My alarm system has a Stay setting. Movement does not set the alarm so you don’t need to worry unless you open a door or window.
I have worried that one of us would forget the alarm and open the door in the morning. I’m going to start setting it so we can get used to having to turn it off in the morning.

The dogs would have barked if it had been a coyote, another dog or a person.
It was probably one of our cats that tripped the motion detector. The dogs would not pay attention to our cats or even a stray cat.
I am seldom home alone; once in awhile during the day. When hubby spent a few days in the hospital in December, I was very uneasy about being alone except for Marissa. She is 10 years old and I didn’t want to upset her so I took a deep breath and tried to act like it was no big deal. We did not have the alarm system at that time.

"Are We Having Fun Yet?" Some fun and some not-so-much, and I know I've missed a ton of it here, so hope to catch up somehow. Between company, crazy weather, waterlogged phone lines, and being out of town.........what's going on? I briefly scanned my comments and read something about Amy & Jaycee & Meg & Polly and doctor appointments, Millie 'being back', etc.

Thank you, Tiapam.
A fun WF Graphic this morning.

I pray that our country can survive two more years of this administration.
I'm praying that the November election will put a halt to some of these policies.
Have a delightful Warm Fuzzy Wednesday, LTOS.

Hi, jaycee, I was just reading about
your scary incident (I will never get to read all the posts I've missed, so forgive me if I don't know some of the things going on that I should be aware of)
All of you, single women especially, please be careful and lock everything at night! Everything! You may live in the best and safest neighborhood in the world, but it doesn't stop someone who's not a good neighbor from being where he doesn't belong. A close call for both you and yorkie, and thank goodness neither of you were harmed. Take care! Sometime I'll tell 'my' scary story, which happened, naturally, when my husband was out of town for a week. But not now. :)

10,000.... great time for Sheriff Joe’s tent city! I thought they were all too afraid to show their faces, legal or not... /gag me
To: jaycee
Oh My, Jaycee.
Both you and Yorkie. Please be careful. If I were here alone, I would not go out after dark. Do you have an alarm system? Do you own a gun? Talk to your sons and do something to protect yourself.
When Junior had to leave when MrJust was in hospital, he told me to lock the door and do not unlock it until morning. I think he worried about leaving Marissa and me here alone. We have no close neighbors. Closest is 1/4 mile away. Let them have whatever is in your car. Whatever it is, it is not worth getting hurt over.

Connie, can you give CCW pointers? OMGosh Yorkie what a scare you had!!!
I thank the Lord today that you are ok!
Yorkie I so believe that a good shotgun is the front line of home defense. Keep it loaded & under your side of the bed. If at anytime your home is breached all you have to do is roll out of bed & grab it. You can even shoot from under your bed for a leg shot to start if you have to!
You do need to get ya a good caliber handgun as well. A loaded .45 helps me sleep like a baby.:)
Make sure you have a good lock on you bedroom door, I have a deadbolt on mine & a metal door is best.
Always keep your cell phone on your nightstand grab your gun first & dial 911 second. Lock your door & yell out "I have a gun & police have been dispatched".
Things can be replaced but you my dear one cannot!
I'm thinking some thumb locks on those windows & some motion sensors on the floods might not be a bad idea either.
You don't need a CCW to conceal carry here any more but I do believe that everyone should have the training the course supplies & lots of range time.
Sending you mucho big *Hugs* sweetie!

Oh, Yorkie!!! What a scary ordeal for you! I think you might
consider getting a bigger-than-a-Yorkie outside dog to help to
scare off people like that who want to do harm.
I am glad you are here and are safe and unharmed! (((hugs)))
