For those who had heard and were worried, I'm surprisingly okay. The Ford F-150 is a remarkable machine. 130-mph head-on speed (NASCAR crashes are sometimes slower than that), and the seatlbelt caused most of my injuries (which is FAR better than any other alternative!!!). Happened 14 hrs ago, and I'm mostly just sore and bewildered.
Sadly, the other driver did not survive. I actually didn't see much of her until she was trying to get in the front seat of my truck... while still in her Saturn. The female minivan in front of me said she (the Saturn driver) swerved into our lane (on a 2-lane rural highway), corrected in time to miss her, but over-corrected and came back into our lane... narrowly missing her, but hitting me dead on.
Wow
For 130mph combined speed, between vehicles with a combined weight of almost 4 tons, that is amazingly light damage.
I’d wager the poor soul was futzing around with a phone.
Glad you’re ok. Best wishes.
I would simply send them the photo and say “Thank You”
Glad to here you are ok..
I hope no one was in that passenger seat! Wow!
Sad about the other driver tho..
here = hear
:(
The Saturn. Witnesses say that my rear end went up, the truck did a 180, and I landed in the same lane. (This probably saved my life, since my body probably didn't actually move very much at all. The car was already at an angle when she struck me, so she must have spun and flipped into the ditch. (Prayers for her and her family would be appreciated.)
My son survived a head-on collision with a Mack truck in a Ford Expedition. He got out and helped the other driver after crossing the yellow line. I praise God, of course, and he’s used the experience in his testimony with church youth groups.
That’s sad and a horrible thing to be involved in. Glad you’re okay and I’m sorry for the other family’s loss.
Good point. The pictures do say more than most wordsmiths could muster. Thanks.
Prayers for quick healing and thanks for your safety.
My prayers and condolences to the family of the other driver.
I love my F-150. A great machine, and in your case a life saver. I take it another trip to the Ford dealer will be in the cards soon.
Praise the Lord for your survival and prayers for the other driver
Prayers up for all.
So, now that the Almighty has my FULL and undivided attention... and clearly doesn’t want me yet... I’m hoping that I can figure out exactly what His purpose is for me and get to working on it!
Looking at the damage, it looks like you tried to move to your left to try to avoid her.
Glad you are able to post this.
