Wow. I hope he repented before he died. I’m not being “holier than thou” either.

I see that Yahoo and AP buried halfway down in the story the fact that Sen. (Sheets) Byrd was a member of the Ku Klux Klan and he opposed the Civil Rights Act.

It was the only way to get him out of his seat.
That is a damned shame. Surprised the Dems didnt stuff him and still roll him in for a vote.

I pray for his soul and hope that the Lord has prepared a space for him in his Kingdom of Heaven.
That being said, I find it frustrating that it took an Act of God to extract the single largest parasite to ever feed on the blood of our body politic. I wonder if West Virginia will now change its’ name to “Byrdland”?
Here’s hoping the citizens of this great nation never see the another like him engorging on our tax dollars like a burrowed in fattened tick.

And, he got the best/most medical care available promptly without bureaucratic interference; but, what will we, the little people, be getting when our time comes? A bureaucrat(death panel) who decides if our life is worth living.

According to an article I read yesterday, since Byrd passed away BEFORE July 3, the remainder of his term MUST be filled via a special election this November.
