Alright, you’re going to be asked if you’re logged in of course, but in all seriousness, FR tweaked their IP address over the weekend.
Try using a command line instruction on your home computer called DNS flush.
In Windows:
Start -> Run -> (type) CMD -> (then type)IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS (hit enter)
You may have to run the CMD instruction as an Administrator, but I don’t think so.

Server “issues” I believe (and maybe outside interference, if you have a bit of a taste for conspiracies).
There are several alternate sites, including this one: http://altfreerepublic.freeforums.org/portal.php
where you should be able to get info during a crash

The FR being down a couple of days made me realize just how much I appreciate it and depend upon it. I will keep that in mind during the next pledge drive.

I had the same problem and the ipconfig /flushdns didn’t work so I just added the new IP to my hosts file and now I’m good to go.

Clean your temp files, cookies, offline files & SSL state.
Reboot.
As necessary, run the command prompt as described above.

I usually can’t get on using the latest IE version. I booted up an old machine with a dialup system and an older IE version and everything works fine but slow, of course.

I had the same problem. My friend, who has cable modem was zipping right along, but over at my house where I’ve got a 56K dialup, things were all bogged down. What’s up with that????

I had not been able to get of FR since yesterday at 5:00 PM at work until about 45 minutes ago, but my Blackberry could access it just fine.
I have been monitoring and very few others were complaining on channels I had access to (Facebook and Yahoo groups). I would see a posting "Slow in SC" or something like that, but I had no access whatsoever.
I can't figure out why some areas could get it and not others. I am closer to the servers than most who had access.
