Is This the Strangest Dog You've Ever Seen?

A poodle was transformed into a dragon for a day to help slay the competition at a big grooming event. Two-year-old Denni the standard poodle was dyed red with non-harmful vegetable dyes and wore wings to help her owner Su Eld-Weaver, of Rushden, take the title of Creative Groomer of the Year at the English Grooming Challenge in Kent on Sunday.
Mrs Eld-Weaver appeared alongside her pet dressed as a fair maiden and her eight-week-old son Quinn also took part, dressed as a knight.
She said: "For this challenge you need a dog who enjoys fuss and Denni enjoyed all the one-on-one attention she got.
Other competitions can limit your creativity but this one opens up your creative side and it was a lot of fun.
"I've never dressed as a maiden before and Quinn was dressed up as a knight although he was taming the dragon rather than slaying it."

It should have been green with scales airbrushed on.

What is her right hand holding back there?
I think this is animal cruelty.
She’s guilty in more ways than one.

In the FIRST place, poodles are not DOGS!! No utterly worthless, poofy piece of puffed up, pansy-looking fur should be called a dog.

After seeing some of these pictures, if there’s a “Give Dogs Dignity” group, I think I’ll join. lol

At least some are dogs. My brother, who lives up in Alaska, tells me there has been a standard poodle team in the Iditarod for a number of years. They are very able to pull the sled. They haven’t won yet, but they are just as good as most of the other dog teams.

Yep. Now, I’m no poodle fan, but true standard poodles were bred as hunting dogs. It’s the breeders who miniaturized them, tea-cupped them, generally candy-assed a very decent breed.
