In the wake of the NCAA's decision to penalize USC, former Trojans running back Reggie Bush, a key figure in the sanctions, released a statement that read predictably formal. Nothing surprising here:
"I have a great love for the University of Southern California and I very much regret the turn that this matter has taken, not only for USC, but for the fans and players. I am disappointed by today's decision and disagree with the NCAA's findings. If the University decides to appeal, I will continue to

When you're driving an expensive car, your family moves to a luxury home and has cash and your 19 years old, you know something is not right unless grandma died and left a little somum somum to the the family.
And the same goes for the coaches. Everyone knows something is wrong by just looking at the parking lot outside the practice field. When the players have better cars than the coaches, you know something is not right.
“Expensive Car”?
Not sure I would classify a Chevy that was already 7 years old by the time he was a freshman as “expensive”.
I didn’t realize this had to do with the University of South Carolina. I thought it was Southern Cal.
That’s what happens when the press gets confused about the use of USC when you talk about universities.
Because everyone should know that the Real USC is in South Carolina.
LOL~, of course, stupid me
Bush was driving at various times, a Hummer and a classic tricked-out chevy.
When Reggie Bush posed on the cover of Dub Magazine with his tricked out car and his parents wrote their name in the driveway of the home they were allegedly living in rent free, they werent doing much to cover their tracks. Even devout Trojan fans have a hard time arguing Reggie didnt get something.
Seriously? Where do you think Reggie thought his parents got the money for the new house? Did he think the guy who was constantly coming around talking up his career and the fact that he would be taken care of by this guy’s firm was just doing it for the love of football? Come on - he knew, the coaches knew - it’s their job to know what these boys are doing and who they are associating with.
Bush’s fault!
(Can’t believe I’m first with that!)
Sinatra’s cool too
I'd love to see an agreement between the NCAA and the NFL to punish the players in addition to the schools. If Reggie get a 2 year suspension from the NFL for his college infractions, some people would think twice about doing the crap he did.
I am STUNNED that it took until post 26! ;)
SO, how’s that dream-job working out for Lane Kiffin?
“Do you know the date that issue hit the newsstands. Hmmm? Here’s a hint. It was afer Bush’s rookie NFL season had begun.”
Wow, if I ever write something with that much attitude (read: arrogance) and it turns out I’m dead wrong, I think I will just sign off FR...

No, it's not. The picture was posted as proof that SC should have known he got extra benefits. The cover picture was not printed till AFTER Bush left SC, so it means nothing.
However, the compliance dept at SC was negligent for not following up on Bush’s information sheet on the car which was incomplete. I acknowledge that.
Now, compare the sanctions put on SC, where neither the school nor its boosters provided any benefits, to Notre Dame where a booster embezzled over a million dollars and spent most of it on players, or to Oklahoma where a major booster paid two players not to work, or to Florida State where staff aided and abetted academic fraud with over 60 athletes in 10 different sports.
