It actually held up very well. I only got to see the left side of it because I was put into an ambulance very quickly after I got out. The roof collapsed in and the sides of the truck bed were sliced in half. I assume that was where I hit a pole. My tailgate was gone somewhere and my right front tire was sitting near my driver door. I didn’t see the damage from the initial collision.
I don’t know if I will get another Ranger. I may get an F150 depending on how I come out financially on this. The lady was driving somebody else’s car, but the car was insured, so I think things will get worked out for me.
She was driving some kind of black sedan. Here entire front end looked blown apart so it was unrecognizable.
<Thats as close as it gets. Someone is looking after you!
Amen! A speedy recovery to you.
This was in Dallas, TX. She was taken to the hospital. I don’t know about what kind of injuries she had, if any. The police have already filed DWI charges on her.
Glad to hear you’re largely all right.
And also glad you thanked the right saving force. Because a chance accident like that can go any way.
I used to have a ‘93 Ranger and now have a new F150. I’ve never wrecked either but I would much rather have that extra steel around me than not. The Ranger hasn’t kept up with the times and is lacking in safety features compared to it’s big brother.
I am happy to hear you are as well as you are.
I hate drunk drivers.
So glad to hear of your good fortune!! You are lucky, and also lucky to be aware of God’s blessings. My son was in an accident in 2005, hit black ice and spun out, crossed the median and 2 more lanes of interstate, rolled 5 times. LIVED TO TELL... went back to Iraq within a year with the USMC. He had neck fusion surgery. He had on his seat belt. It was a mazda truck. Then due to his recouperation period, he was NOT back with his unit when several of his buddies on a USMC exercise in an LAV, went over the side of a bridge in CA and died. He evaded death twice in a matter of two weeks. I told him God must have an important plan for him.
Same for you. You wear that neck brace, now, you hear?
Thanks for sharing your story!!
Yikes! You are blessed. I bet this experience changes your life!
Your accident is the very reason my 19 year old daughter drives a gas hog SUV. No way would I put her in some flimsy Obama death trap. She was hit by an illegal alien a few years ago and did not get a scratch. If she had been in some puny Yugo or some tiny car she would have been seriously injured or killed.
You need to get an attorney ASAP. Do not attempt to settle with the insurance company on your own.
BTW glad you are all right. There are no accidents and you were spared for a reason.
That was amazing.
I am working on the attorney issue. There are THOUSANDS of lawyers in Dallas and I’m trying to avoid the ambulance chasers who would use me to make THEM rich.
Dear lady, please MAKE SURE your neck injury is stable. These can be very tricky. I will pray for you.
By the way, my truck was a 2006 Ford Ranger.

I was in a head-on collision with a drunk driver back in 2001.
She was driving a full size Dodge. My son and I were in a 1997 Ford Ranger. She was hurt real, real bad. We were injured, but not critically.
Point is, them Ford Rangers are tough little boogers. It saved my life, as it saved yours.
Thank God you’re OK.
How has the changed your view on life?
I wonder sometimes, when I’m in a lousy mood how I’d feel after a wake up call...
I can’t really say my view on life has changed. I am a strong Christian so my view on life is guided by my faith. Clearly my work on Earth is not yet finished, so I will wait to see what unfolds.
