Don't blame it on the Dark Side. Anakin Skywalker's epic transformation into the evil Darth Vader may have been a result of mental illness, according to a group of French psychiatrists and psychologists. New Study Labels Darth Vader With Borderline Personality Disorder.
In a paper published in the journal Psychiatry Research, Eric Bui and his colleagues at Toulouse University Hospital have given new meaning to the term "Jedi mind tricks" with their psychoanalysis of why the tragic "Star Wars" hero fell from Jedi grace. Apparently, he had borderline

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Well, yeah there is, but we will pretend there isnt.

They are reading way too much into a fictional character in a script written by a man who has very little conception of continuity, believable dialogue or logical plotlines....
And a good example of
that sparked this image...

“Youre referring to The Heros Journey by Joe Campbell. It said that Star Wars was the best script ever written in Hollywood”
I thought I read it in the companion book from the Moyer’s interview with Campbell called “The Power of Myth.” Anyhow, evidently Lucas made a big to-do about how he used the ordered steps of what constitutes a hero’s journey from Campbell’s book of that name to create his film characters . Campbell then went on to film the Moyers interview at Lucas’s Skywalker ranch. In his early work, Campbell made some interesting literary analyses of archetypes but should have steered clear of religious statements. A grumbling ex Catholic, he admitted to Moyers that if he were to adhere to a religion or a view of the after life, it would be the hindu one. Campbell became a guru and hollywood types and his wealthy Sarah Lawrence students, his groupies. That type of person has no real credibility.

When I told him I was half French, my former boss (from the late 70’s/early 80’s) said, “God, I really hate the French.” He was dyslexic, and I had to write all his reports and fill out all his forms for him. He was also the most politically incorrect man I’ve ever met, but I enjoyed working for him because he was brilliant, and he was kind under his crusty exterior.
I have to admit, in the light of this “study,” that I agree with him.

And C3PO was definately French.

Thanks for the ping.
Personally, I keep reminding myself that, “fear of loss leads to the darkside.”
I don’t think the Tuskans had anything to do with why he turned. He turned only when he couldn’t save Padma without going to the Sith.
