Why Elton John Played Their Wedding

George Michael was unavailable and Michael Jackson is dead.

Because they like his music? Why is it such a big deal?

Funny, I have never associated Limbaugh with piety. Hmmm.

He’s positioning himself for a run in politics.

I’ve been listening to Rush since 1992 and I’ve never heard him voice his support of gay civil unions, nor have I ever heard him say that he agrees with the premise that homosexuality is determined by biology. Hmmmmm....

I thought it demonstrated Elton John’s hypocrisy: after all, it only costs a million dollars to get him to sell out.

Rush's choppers are looking uncomfortable lately.

If I limited my entertainment choices to people whom I agree with politically, there wouldn’t be much tv or music I could enjoy.

How sad for our society to limit us to only certain performers.

No longer cutting edge perhaps. He is still The Godfather of Conservative Talk. And frankly, his wedding was none of our business.

I imagine Rush invited him, because Rush likes his music.

Heck, I love Rocket Man and Yellow Brick Road.

I am a HUGE FAN of Sarah brightman, and I would love to have her sing at my wedding. I know she is on the left, but I simply do not care.

Hmm, Rush is very pro life, but I’d never heard about the “civil unions” stuff.

Eh, dance clown, dance.

Far more important to me is that he had Clarence Thomas perform the ceremony at one of his prior 3 weddings and what good that do? His words meant nothing in other words. I could care less who the entertainer was at his latest wedding.

Why not? He is still a great entertainer.

"As a young disc jockey he invented a fictitious faith healer, “Friar Shuck” who saved people over the radio for a hundred bucks a pop."

That would have been "Hudson and Landry". That was back in the early seventies. Do a search on it. Hudson and Landry did their broadcast from Southern California and "Friar Shuck" was one of their routines.

What is wrong with Rush Limbaugh hiring Elton John? If Rush likes his music and they can agree on a price then what’s the big deal?

I have listened to his show once, about 5 minutes worth, while in my car while waiting for an appointment.
I don’t understand why he’s such a big deal.*

It’s funny all of the liberal head that are exploding over this? They completely misunderstand us. I don’t hate gay people just because I don’t think they should have more rights than I have. I grew up with Elton John’s music so can understand why he played for his Wedding. Why is no one on the left questioning why Elton agreed to play? he’s the one who sold out for a million dollars. :)

I’ve been listening to Rush for almost 20 years. I remember when Freddie Mercury died of AIDS, Rush mocked him by playing “Another One Bites the Dust”, and sort of insinuated that he got what he deserved.....I didn’t like it then, or now, but I still love Rush....and Freddie, and Elton..... (I can’t help it, I’m a child of the 70’s...)

Limbaugh-haters jeered at what they considered el Rushbo’s hypocracy.

Are there no more proofreaders at the WSJ?
