Elton John and Rush Limbaugh may seem like an unlikely pair to be found at the same event, but perhaps a wedding is as good a place as any to put politics aside.

Nearly all of Rush’s fans on FR wouln’t give a penny to Elton John, much less have him sing at their wedding.

Surprisingly, Sir Elton is not in favor of Gay Marriage.

I look at it this way, that was one hell of a wedding present for the wifey. Good on ya Rush!
As for Elton, well everybody has a price...including gay liberals. (but I repeat myself)
PS Did he play Bennie and the Jets? :)

The epitome of hypocrisy to be found right in your replies. So, as conservatives, you have issues with the government telling you what personal choices one should make when it comes to their own life yet Rush is forbidden from having the same individual rights when it comes to his wedding, paid for by his money????
GET OVER YOURSELVES!

If the bride wants Elton John, and you can afford it, you get Elton John. There’s no wiggle room in this.
To: mylife
Aww jeez Rush why would you hire that old queen? Lol! my thoughts exactly, for a cool million no less.

She’s too young to be an Elton John fan. Rush probably likes his music from the old Top 40 days.

Rush should have hired Martina Mcbride or Lee Greenwood instead.. Remember Rush cant enjoy music that he didnt hear before he lost his hearing.

My guess is that when his new beautiful bride says,
wouldn’t it be cool if we had Elton sing for my
wedding? Rush justs reaches for his check book and
says Why of course ‘snookums’.
It was a girl thing.

People can do whatever they want. Doesn’t mean I need to agree with them or support them. I don’t care. I haven’t listened to Rush in years anyway. And it isn’t about government telling anyone what to do. Rush made his own personal choice and it’s just that - his personal choice. The guy can’t stay married anyway, so I don’t have a whole lot of respect for him.
To: RDTF
It wouldn’t surprise me to know Rush and Elton were friends. I suspect Rush has a rather laissez faire attitude to people’s personal habits as long as it doesn’t intrude into the political sphere. You’ll notice that Leftists will be bothered by this much more than conservatives. For Leftists, everything is political. For a conservative, as long as you don’t use the law to force your lifestyle on the rest of us, we’re free to care about you as a human being.

NEWS FLASH: it was not Rush's fans or the FReepers wedding, it was Rush's and his new wife. THEIR DECISION, THEIR MONEY. Despite the arrogance or cluelessness of some of thinking otherwise, Saturday was about Rush and Katherine. Not his fans or the FReepers or any other conservatives. Or Liberals. Why is this even an issue of debate?
RUSH'S CHOICE. HIS MONEY. HIS RIGHT

Thing about Weddings, whether it’s your first or fourth - the Wife decides everything. It’s just the way it is.
