OK, I am fed up.
My personal email has been flooded with multiple emails from the yahoo FR backup list, and I am sick of it.
Those of you sending stuff to the yahoo list, cut it out, right now!
Today, I have been bombarded, and have gone to my control preferences, sending all messages immediately to "junk", which is automatically deleted from my computer.
If yahoo e-mail lists are that easily co-opted, I think we all should go cancel the FR yahoo account.
Maybe I am having a bad night? Is anyone else getting flooded with unwanted, unimportant, redundant, multiple messages via their yahoo FR account?
Am I the only one, or just late to the party?
Is it just me, or are others struggling with yahoo emails from the same persona, over and over, over and over, again and again?
Can't something be done to stop him/her?
Its just you, just change your preferences there to get either a daily or weekly summary.
mine too over 200
what u say?
...never mind, I see what you are saying, I just opened up the weekly summary email and it is just hundreds of posts by some guy named Rich Martin, over and over and over.

Not Breaking News, Noob.
1. Log in and go to group
2. Click: “Edit Membership”
3. Switch it to: “Web Only”
No more emails. Not that hard!
Is this REALLY Breaking News????
Really?
This is Breaking News?
It's not just you.
My Yahoo account is not important to me so I'm not struggling with these e-mails, just a pain to delete them.
Set your group preferences to web only no email
Problem solved
Whoever is the owner of that Yahoo Group — should go into the group, delete those unwanted messages, and then delete the membershipship of whoever sent them.
Did you say something to piss everybody off?
I’m not having problems of that sort.
You can’t control your controls, and this is breaking news? Get over it. Change your settings. This should be in chat, not breaking news.
Will do!
Today there have been 12 to14 messages from two different senders. Each sending multiple duplicates of the same message, as if it is being sent over and over.
I am considering deleting the FR yahoo group completely. But, it might be a head’s up, or a blessing within an irritation.
Is Yahoo so easily hacked/corrupted that our personal email addresses are “out there” for any loony toon to grab, use?
If so, perhaps we should reconsider signing up!
Yes, the solution is simple. You only get emails from Yahoo FreeRepublic if you asked for them. Just change the setting.
Personally, I only use that site when FR is down, so I can hopefully learn what the problem is.
I think everyone has moved over to the Facebook group during downtimes anyway.

If someone is abusing the site by sending multiple emails, then maybe you could pass the word in some way to Jim or the Moderators. I’m not sure if that can be done there, or would have to be done here.
Yes. Thanks, you beat me to it. The owner of the group is asleep at the wheel. I'll see if I can find the owner and ask to be made a moderator.
