I don't do well with corn syrup. It gives me migraines too. But I have to tell ya, it's been hard in recent years to find stuff made with sugar instead of corn syrup. I haven't been able to drink a Pepsi since they switched over.

For a while, Pepsi has "throwback" Pepsi and Mt. Dew sweetened with sugar. I showed my appreciation by purchasing this product. Apparently, it was for a limited time only so now I'm back to drinking Hansen's.

One of my very favorite things is Karo corn syrup.

but, as a sweetener in drinks and foods, I do prefer sugar.

But Pepsi keeps coming out with the Throwbacks and they have real sugar. You gotta watch for when they come out and stock up (if you really want a Pepsi). Coke also does real sugar at Passover and you can find those at that time - they have a different color cap. You have to live where there are Jews though. I’ve tried to find those Cokes in areas where there are no Jews and you can’t. Thank God I live near Jewish people (of course, I like them even without the Kosher coke!)

Excellent! Maybe sugar will catch on with more companies!

I try to avoid sweets, but HFCS is the worst. The problem I’ve found is that it is in everything! I don’t need any sweetener in my yogurt, the fruit does that for me. HFCS also lengthens shelf life. I also don’t want to eat anything with a ten year shelf life, that can’t be good for me either.

it's been hard in recent years to find stuff made with sugar instead of corn syrup.

It is best to cut out all refined sugar, but especially High Fructose Corn Syrup. This is a 90 minute video, but well worth the time.

Soda pop made with sugar is worth drinking - sometimes the stuff can be bought at COSTCO... buy it if you used to like soda...

"Hunt's and Snapple are just 2 of the companies who have decided to listen to consumers' wants and use sugar instead of corn syrup."

A bit off topic:
When will Snapple switch over to plastic bottles as opposed to glass? There are broken Snapple bottles everywhere. Dogs and kids, especially, can easily cut themselves on the glass shards. Just about every beverage company nowadays uses plastic.

Regular sugar, sucrose, is composed of fructose and glucose. High fructose corn syrup is composed of fructose and glucose. What’s the beef?

My local Wal Greens is selling “Mexican Coca Cola” (and that’s exactly how they advertise it) at .99c apiece for a regular small-sized glass bottle. I checked out the ingredients label and it listed sugar not HFCS. Didn’t buy any as I am trying not to drink sodas at all, but memories of how good Coke was prior to about 1995-1996, when I noticed it always “tasted nasty”, are preying on me...

Great! One of the reasons we joined Costco was to get Mexican (cane sugar) Coke.

It definitely has been easier finding no HFCS alternatives in the past year or so. Hope more go that way.

I haven't been able to drink a Pepsi since they switched over.

I have it on good authority from a member of the Wooddruff family that the New Coke/Old Coke thing was done to disguise the switch from cane sugar to corn syrup. You can still get Coke made with cane sugar around Passover in Jewish communities, though. Apparently, Rabbis won't bless Coke made with corn syrup.......

In my area there is a big advertising campaign saying that corn syrup is no different than sugar. Guess it isn’t working.

Now they need to wise up about soy.
It is bad for thyroids and is in the top ten food allergies but it seems to be in a lot of foods in one form or another.

When I was little I loved Pepsi.Couldn’t figure out why I had trouble with it as an adult. I felt like I had to burp and wanted to throw up when I had it. Then, Pepsi Throwback came along. It tasted great and I didn’t feel sick after drinking it.
