I am not sure who would be interested in viewing these pictures but I had the tremendous honor of being escorted by a friend who works at Kennedy Space Center in late February as a mission specialist around Endeavor, the tower, the waiting room, the walk out ramp, and a number of other area's of KSC.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that will never happen again with the shuttles being retired. I am just getting around to loading up some of the photos and wanted to share them here.
Enjoy!

NICE! Amazing opportunity - and amazing photos. Thanks for sharing them with us as we think about bidding the Shuttles farewell.
I thought you might appreciate the following video. Some really nice video (close-ups, from NASA I suppose) timed very nicely with a song.
“Excitement so thick - you can cut it with a knife.”

Again - thanks for sharing your wonderful photos with us.

I was surprised at how the underbelly of the shuttle looked. Is this normal?

Absolutely amazing. I was looking at them and marveling at what man can do, with talent on loan from G-d. Thank you for sharing.

The support structure looks like some crazy kid went wild with an erector set.......I look at things like that and tall skyscrapers and wonder just how they were builit. I have problems putting stuff together with instructions.
I get a chuckle when I think of some of the conversations that might take place during the construction phase such as: "Hey Larry, think we should weld a bar across here?"
