As I have become more aware of how conservative I am, I have had more of a desire to learn the history of our country. I am not ashamed to admit that I had NO idea where any state was located, especially since I used this website and now know all 50 states locations and their capitals. I am definitely going to make sure that I do this with my kids and I just wanted to pass this on so we can ALL educate our children and teach them the real history of our country. God Bless
Don’t you mean geography?
You didn’t know where ANY state was located? Wow!
Check out the Mellissa & Doug USA map jigsaw puzzle, worked well for the kids in my family.

Texas is a state of mind
Great for learning geography (the world part changed but the U.S. remained the same).
I learned the location and capitols of all 57 states.
Congratulations on the effort and your candor!
Might I ask how old you are and were you born/schooled in the U.S.?
ROTFLMAO!!!
There is a very good show for those who find state history interesing on the History Channel called How the States Got Their Shape. I love that stuff.
Sure... I’m 29 years old. I was born and raised in Long Island NY. It wasn’t the schools fault though. I never took school seriously and I spent more time on the streets then in class. My uncle drove me to an Air Force recruiter after getting fed up with me and saved my life.
“I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, um, some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq and everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future.”
—gee whiz—I only had to learn 48 back in 1947-—but had to do it from a map on the wall and a geography book-—
I explained on post #12
Well, God bless your efforts.
How could you NOT know where your state was located?
I learned the states with a similar wooden puzzle back in the 60’s. It wasn’t painted as nicely as the one on Amazon and I had a bit of trouble with the “Four Corner” states, but I loved that puzzle.
Brunette: “What’s the capital of Mississippi?”
Blond: “That’s easy. ‘M’!”
I knew where NY, FL, and CA was. Only because CA and FL are pretty easy to locate and I was from NY so I knew where that was. I didn’t care about anything else though.
