130 lb Hooters Waitress Told To Lose Weight Or Lose Job!

DETROIT - Hooters had just given waitress Cassie Smith a glowing 2 year review.
But her bosses and two women on a conference call from the company's headquarters in Atlanta changed their tune when it came to her uniform evaluation
“They were like, your shorts and your shirt size could use some improvement,” said Smith.
Cassie, who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 132 pounds claims she sat there while she was told if she wanted to keep her job she needed to drop some weight.
“These women proceeded to tell me I had 30 days, they would give me a free gym membership, and if I didn't improve in 30 days I would be separated from the company,” Smith said.
“I was horrified, I was heartbroken, I was humiliated,” she continued.
Cassie clearly doesn't have a problem squeezing into her skimpy uniform, an extra small tank top and shorts.
In fact she says when she started this job 2 years ago she weighed about 10 pounds more than she does now.
Questions to the restaurant’s general manager Rob Rice were deferred to Hooters’ corporate offices.
For Cassie the damage has already been done.
The 20 year-old feels like she's a victim of weight discrimination by a corporation with unrealistic expectations.
“I don't want other girls to go through this. I don't want anyone to have to go through this.”
What? She is cute, and very skinny.
I was at a Hooters in Chicago a few months ago and I would bet half were size 12.

Needs to dump about 10# around the middle!

Is this BS? At the Hooters in this area in Johnson City, TN, the girls are healthy++. This woman is bone thin in comparison. When we moved here, they even had a ninth month pregnant woman waiting tables in the tank top and shorts. I got a huge laugh at my husband about it at the time and told him he’s welcome to eat in TN Hooters any time.

It’s named Hooters, not Fat-Bodies for a reason.
Still, according to the article she was not told she was overweight.
She just received low marks on uniform fit.
Maybe it’s not the weight so much as where it has accumulated.
The Woo-hoo factor is low, but she looks fine to me.
i just started working with a personal trainer, and she says that they no longer use those BMI charts... they go by percentage of body fat... those charts are misleading...
Look at old TV show for what was "fat" back then...Jackie Gleason, Ed McMahon, Alan Hale (The Skipper) and compare them to people nowadays. Astonishing.
Yeah... lol. Their minimum weight for me is what I weigh when I'm around 4-5 months pregnant.
