Logansport police are seeking a suspect in the rape and strangulation of a 4-year-old girl over the weekend.
At 8:45 a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Plum Street just north of the Eel River. The girls mother called 9-1-1 when she awoke to find that someone had beaten, choked and sexually assaulted her daughter.
Logansport Police Chief A.J. Rozzi says officers spent Sunday canvassing the neighborhood seeking witnesses and evidence and following leads. As of Monday evening, police had no suspect.
The girl suffered injuries to her throat, face and other parts of her body. She was taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where medical staff collected evidence in hopes of obtaining the DNA of the culprit. The girl was released from the hospital Sunday night.
Rozzi says capturing the person responsible for the crime is the departments top priority. Multiple detectives are working the case.
Lt. Cathi Collins, an investigator trained in handling child sexual abuse cases, interviewed the victim Monday morning, but the girl has provided no information about what happened.
On Saturday night, the mom had gone to bed with her boyfriend and left children ages 3, 4 and 8 watching television in the living room, which is next to the bedroom.
The next morning the girl was found beaten and covered in dirt.
Rozzi said the girl suffered a brutal sexual attack.
Its hard to believe that someone would do that to a little girl, he said.
Rozzi said the girl was last seen by her mother at 3 a.m. Sunday. A witness told police he saw the girl standing barefoot and dressed only in a night gown on the southwest corner of Linden Avenue and Plum Street about 6:30 a.m.
The man said he asked the girl if she was OK. She responded that she was walking home. The man reported watching the girl enter a residence on Plum Street before he left.
The mother reported the rape at 8:45 a.m. Rozzi said investigators believe the attack occurred sometime between 3 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
Detectives have talked with the victims parents and grandparents and plan to interview the other children. So far, the investigation has moved slowly, which can be the nature of traumatic cases involving young victims, Rozzi said.
Were trying to find out where the attack occurred and how she got out of the house, Rozzi said.

LOGANSPORT Logansport police will make an announcement regarding their investigation into the rape of a 4-year-old girl.
This afternoon, police booked 22-year-old William Roy Wilson of Logansport into the Cass County Jail on three counts of child molesting and one count of criminal confinement.
The charges stem from a May 2 attack in a garage in the 400 block of West Linden Avenue.
Police have spent countless hours trying to track down the person responsible for what many veteran LPD officers have described as the most brutal attack they have ever seen committed on a child.
Wilson is being held on a bond of $500,000 cash/$1 million surety.

Why test on animals when their are sub-humans like this?
She is to busy to take care of her children but not to busy for a romp with the boyfriend. I am very sorry for this child. It is truly a sad situation.
People in this neighborhood were actually ‘picketing’(not sure if that is the correct word) with signs condemning the attack and warning the evil deed doer he would be found.
My brain has no way to process this. Evil is the only word.
Batting practice.
Oooo, good one. I’d like first bat. As a mommy of a toddler, I would personally dismember this person while he/she is still alive.
This is so sick. I wonder if the 4 year old left in front of the TV was a twin to the murdered daughter.
Child survived. Is back at home. Gave police some information that helped in the investigation.
Batting practice.
For the perp and for Mama & her boyfriend.
My feelings exactly. That is the second crime in this story.
I’d be happy to give up my turn to Miguel Cabrera or any of the Detroit sluggers. My only request is that they only hit the body and limbs. Head shots would kill the guy too quickly.
Please keep us posted.
If their is Justice in this world. This Wilson dirt bag will be in general population, not solitary. That way some “Bubba” can do to him what this piece of sh*t did to that poor little child. I hope he dies from a rectum hemorrhage.
I wondered about that.
Here is more information.
Apparently the ‘perp’ broke into the house and took the girl.

Police say they’ve arrested a 22-year-old Logansport man in connection with the recent sexual assault of a four-year-old girl in the northern Indiana city.
William R. Wilson II is in the Cass County Jail after being arrested Monday at his home, less than a mile from where the girl was attacked. He faces three preliminary charges of child molestation and one of criminal confinement.
Logansport police say Wilson took the child from her home while she was sleeping and took her to a garage where the attack occurred. Investigators determined the girl had been beaten, choked and sexually assaulted.
A city worker found the girl in disheveled bed clothes early on the morning of May 2.
Police say the girl is recovering.
Lets just save everybody time and money: a short walk to a woods and a single bullet in the brain pan.

Where is a picture? His daddy must be so proud.
Don’t y’all know how to burn a jail?
‘splain to me how he knew about the girl, got into the house unnoticed, took the child and then carried her a mile. Guess that is why we have “due process”. Bet ‘ol William Roy knows somebody.
