Here is video of Fox News' Shepard Smith yesterday giving a personal commentary at the end of his broadcast where he blasted BP Executive Tony Hayward for having said he expects lots of lawsuits against his company because "this is America - there will be frivolous lawsuits."
Smith launched into an indignant pounding of Hayward, for also having apparently said the oil leak in the Gulf is "a relatively small leak" compared to the amount of water in the Gulf.
"Mr. Hayward, that Gulf is the source of life for millions upon millions of people, and plants, and other creatures on this earth. Jobs are lost, beaches and birds are tarred, fisheries are closed, tourists are canceling, economies are threatened, and people from Florida to Texas are in some cases concerned for their very livelihoods, and you speak of 'comparative volume'?
Mr. Hayward, British Petroleum has caused the proud people of the Gulf Region great pain. If you think your statements on this subject are helping your company's cause - you are wrong. And if you think the people of the Gulf Region and the rest of America will take lying down without a fight a poorly handled aftermath of what your company has done to our Gulf and our people - you are horribly mistaken.
Our water is now polluted, our coast is now soiled, our fish and our turtles and our shrimp and our oysters are now harmed. Many of our people are now out of a job, and eleven hardworking men and wom -- men are dead from the explosion on the rig that carried your company's name. Remember that Mr. Hayward? We do. On your watch, these are extremely difficult times for us litigious Americans. At least act like you care."

Bp is limited by law to $75M in damages. The Feds are panicked after they read the law. All this oil totally disappears in salt water . It takes about 56 days. The main thing ids DRILL !! I want my two big SUVs to run cheap!!
It’s serious, no doubt about it—but the worst EVER? Perhaps they should do a little reading about how much oil was spilled by sinking vessels in the 1939-45 timeframe, or how much oil leaked from automobiles is washed away into our lakes, rivers, and oceans.
I take it that Shep fills some “metrosexual” liberal quota at Fox News. Or did Geraldo get him his job?
Not the first time Shep has acted stupidly.
Sissy Shep Smith is just doing the bidding of his 10% Saudi bosses at Fox News. The Saudis do not want their serfs in the emerging Zimbabwe-Merica drilling their own oil or nat gas.

Maybe he can report rumor and innuendo like he did in Katrina. Hell he could say the walk in freezers at the Superdome are full of dead bodies like he did before. Shep is an Uber-drama queen.
As a Gulf Coaster and who works in the enrgy industry... I agree with Shep’s rant for once. The one thing he didn’t rant on was the Obama Admin allowing BP to NOT present a “blow-out” plan in 2009. Obama gave BP a pass.
The upper Gulf Coast is going to get wiped out with crude oil and tar. I love the Gulf Coast, can’t believe this is happening. Destroyed. Freepers, send prayers our way...
No doubt Shep is jockeying to be on Obama’s short list to replace Gibbs.........
If I were BP Executive Tony Hayward, I wouldn’t be parking in Shep’s parking spot anytime soon...

I believe that Shep is from Mississippi, which adds to his emotional interest in this. I think O’Reilly wants ratings like the rest of Fox does.
