Oh brother. Gen. Stanley McChrystal is wanting a new medal to be awarded to U.S. Soldiers for showing "Courageous Restraint" - not killing civilians.
In the report, CNN Reporter Barbara Starr said she asked one soldier what he thought about it, and he just "rolled his eyes." He told her they are already trained to be disciplined and not kill civilians and sees no reason for a medal like this.

Is the idea to “award” this posthumously to the family along with the triangular American flag?

The headline is a lie and those who buy into it are fools. But that's about par for the course around here.

This is not McCrystal’s idea; it is Obama’s.

The next Republican President MUST concentrate on purging commies and anti American officers from our Military.

I should get a “Courageous Restraint of Posting” medal for not saying what I think Stan should do.

Encouraging your troops to hesitate under fire is not a good idea. Better to be alive and remorseful than dead and wrong.

Simply wonderful ..... It will go hand-in-hand with the Purple Heart ... !I think Rush said the name of the medal should be the Yellow Heart.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal is wanting a new medal to be awarded to U.S. Soldiers for showing "Courageous Restraint" - not killing civilians.Note the built-in assumption that soldiers regularly kill civilians, and that not doing so is therefore deserving of special recognition? Gimme a break.

LMAO!!!
How much would you have to hate somebody to put them up for this medal?
I wonder if you have to wear the ribbon in your array if indeed you are forced to accept it?
I can see this ridiculous medal turning into fodder for practical jokes, especially among Marines.

It doesn’t say it is his idea, just that he is considering it.

The headline is a lie and those who buy into it are fools. But that's about par for the course around here. You're the ultimate fool. Read much? McChrystal's spokesman is quoted specifically (and sympathetically) discussing this ridiculous idea. So, regardless of whether the idea was first generated by a Brit or anybody else, McChrystal is giving the idea serious consideration.
To: willyd
maybe they could only award them posthumously...Whew, wouldn't that be a cruel slap in the face!
