**If you TiVo there are Spoilers**
Who are you and what have you done with Jack Bauer? Thats what I wanted to scream at the pod person who starred on 24 last Monday. When the conservative creators of the show left and liberals took over, I was apprehensive. But by and large, the quality of the program kept up. I snorted, of course, when a bad character was threatened with torture by other bad guys. She was hauled into a medieval chamber filled with pincers, hot pokers and iron maidens. Then she was strapped down, a washcloth was draped over her mouth and she was water boarded. Oy. Then, a week ago, Jack murdered her in cold blood, not to get information shed already been terrified into offering up the info but just because he felt like it.
What?!

Orson may have watched every 24 episode, but he must never have seen the Ivan episode of Magnum. If he had, he’d have understood Jack.
Orson Bean is a dick..........Jack is da man! And Frantzie, in post #3 is a complete moron........
You and Frantzie need to hook up! You can share your TV with her since she claims to have disconnected her TV a long time ago.........Maybe she's watching "24" from her therapist's office......
Total fantasy ~ not at all locked into a high moral code like "24".
You’ll notice that Chuck Norris has never dared to cross Jack Bauer.
First time I saw that “split-screen” crap I shut it off.
Next week Jack puts panties on Logan’s head.
The sniper, Yaakov, cold bloodedly shot Jack’s girlfriend. The sniper also swallowed the SIMM card containing the information needed to prove who ordered not only her murder but also who was behind the goings on the past day. In addition, the psycho-expletive killed in cold blood and was clearly an enemy of the country. Traitors truly should die. Justified, both of them. Not that such things don’t happen in real life, from time to time in covert ops here and around the globe.
But really, it’s just a TV show.
My guess is that the show will end with the writers having Chloe kill Jack. The only person he trusts.
He either is dying, but not yet dead-
In prison-
Or in hiding...
>>Excuse me but I am am a relative recent viewer but who was that and when did they leave?
**
Joel Surnow. Also interviewed by NY Magazine and professed to be pals with Rush Limbaugh and Andy Breitbart. Left in 2007 due to Fox’s lib management..
“I want to know his cell phone provider.”
Me, too!!! I always marvel that their calls always go thru, no dead zones. Ever.
>>Still, there are those who watch Survivor, NCIS and “plane wreck on island” or whatever the heck it’s called
**
That would be LOST. The best part was in season 3 when a character named Ford actually said..
‘I’ve never voted Democrat..”
She’ll shoot him and he falls into the river, but the body will never be found.
Chloe will be shooting blanks, Jack will stage his own "death" and he and Chloe will eventually hook up in the upcoming movie, staging a realistic and tawdry love scene to earn an NC-17 rating.
In prison-
Or in hiding...
You got that right. (Sound of beep..counting down to release date.)
(P.S. Is it just me, or do Jack's legs look a bit thin in this pick?)
I like your ending better.
When they whacked Edgar, it was over for me.
They used to do a masterful job, etc., etc. The last season that aired, the one where death-bed-bound Jack confides in a Muslim cleric, had lost it LONG before that scene, and it didn't lose it because its politics were sympathetic to Muslim immigrants and antagonistic to American defense contractors. It lost it because the show's creators didn't know how to control the roller coaster ride they were dishing out.
Earlier shows, I always felt like the writers knew where they were going in that headlong roller coaster plot rush, that I was in competent hands and could hardly wait until next Monday. But that last season felt like every week, the creators wrote themselves into a corner. It felt to me like amateur hour. It got stoopid. Still, to give them the benefit of the doubt, I stuck with it to the end, only to get more and more disappointed with each episode's lack of skill.
I don't like crappy writing, and I recognize it when I see it; I think you don't because you're still hung up on what used to be, not what is NOW.
These new crappy writers, who happen to be politically liberal, are riding on the coattails and success of the masterful writers, who happened to be, at least in part, politically conservative.
Just like what happened in California -- the conservatives who pioneered and built this state made it cool, then the liberals moved in and screwed it up. Same thing with 24.
