Boffins want to curb climate change by building a $7bn fleet of 1,900 ships to crisscross the oceans as each sucks up ten tons of seawater per second and blasts it a kilometer into the sky to create clouds to absorb sunlight and cool the earth.
And Bill Gates is funding them. No, really.
The Times Online reports that a San Francisco research group with the cloudy name of Silver Lining has received $300,000 from the billionaire mosquito terrorist and tiny-nuke pusher to fund research into the aforementioned geoengineering project.

The Times notes that the US and UK scientists involved in the project witnessed the wimpiness of climate changefighting agreements (or lack of same) coming out of last year's Copenhagen conference, and decided that it'd be global seppuku to wait for international action.
So they're going it alone: Ships + pumps = gushers. Gushers + clouds = cover. Cover = cooling.

How will Algore cash in?
That's the important thing.
Isn't water vapor one of the leading "global warming gasses"?
No idea what moves them...maybe they strap a sail on the back...or they have coolies winding a rubber band....LOL!
some of the same fools that will support spending 7 billion dollars (of someone else’s money) on this nonsense to fight a non exsistent problem will oppose spending 7 billion dollars on an aircraft carrier to fight real terrorists and enemies
Maybe they would use Solar Power....wait...clouds would slow that down...must be Magic somehow...
The novel “Stark” by Ben Elton is inching closer to reality...
Yeah, baby, a$$Gate Bill hasn’t the balls or awareness to know stopping our ememies from breathing would be better for climate change than anything he could suggest.
Doesn’t God pretty much have the rain thing figured out?
A $300K down payment is a far cry from the advertized $7B total price tag....which is a pittance compared to what it will cost to keep 1900 ships running around the globe continuously. Guess where the balance will come from? Probably a UN fund that the US will exclusively pay for.
I’ve GOT it!
They’ll be powered by steam from boilers which are heated by burning $100 bills, supplied by Bill Gates!
IMF?
Nuclear power. :)
At that rate of climate moisture in 18 months or so the temperature should begin rising a degree a month for the forseeable future. By 2012 mean earth temperatures should be about 120F. We will have finally achieved global warming.Way to go, Bill.
Bill really should look into the tragedy of Cat Juggling. The problem is immense.
The Union of Concerned Scientists tackles gardening to save the planet
********************************EXCERPT**********************************
From a press release from the Union of Concerned Scientists, we learn that you dont need to worry anymore about global warming, we can just garden our way to carbon nirvana, that is, if the bugs dont eat it. -Anthony
WASHINGTON (April 26, 2010) Home gardeners can avoid contributing to climate change by using certain techniques and tools that are more climate-friendly than others, according to a new gardening guide released today by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS). The science-based guide explains the connection between land use and global warming, and offers recommendations for conscientious gardeners to maximize the amount of heat-trapping carbon dioxide their green spaces store and minimize the other global warming gases gardens can emit.
Many Americans understand that powering our cars and computers overloads our atmosphere with heat-trapping gases like carbon dioxide, said Karen Perry Stillerman, a senior analyst with the UCS Food and Environment Program. With the right practices, farmers and gardeners can lock up some of that carbon in the soil.
If the water absorbs the heat from the sun then returns to the ocean, wouldn’t the oceans get warmer and the ice melt and baby seals and polar bears would die and . . . I NEED DUCT TAPE FOR MY HEAD!
Um, Bill, you might want to come visit us in Kansas City this week. Our best days have been 10 degress below the norm.
Wait... what? I thought cloud cover was supposed to hold the heat in... that was where the term “greenhouse gases” arose... Obviously, these idiots are losing track of their lies...
