San Francisco Giants will Wear Jerseys "Gigantos"

As there are large protests now in San Francisco against the racial violence that has been ongoing and perpetrated against Asian Americans by black youths, instead I happen to view some local San Francisco television station and they report that the San Francisco supervisors are considering having some sort of action/vote/other where the San Francisco Giants baseball team would have to wear jerseys Gigantos in protest of the recent Arizona law and to show solidarity with Hispanic immigrants.
Is this true? I searched the same affiliate web page for that news agency and I could not find any information.
I also entered GIANTS in Yahoo Babel Fish to have the word translated from English to Spanish and Giants in English translated into Giants in Spanish as well. Giant singular translates into Gigante singular in Spanish. So I am not even sure if the supervisors know that, either
This is outrageous. If the Giants do this, or if the Diamondbacks or Suns do the same sort of stunk, I swear to God and I am serious I will never attend any of their games either team again.

Interestingly, I understand that the San Diego franchise is okay with the law, so to assimilate, they will be known as the San Diego Fathers.

Die-hard Giants fan here, living in the “Belly Of The Beast” (SF Bay Area). Just an FYI, the team wears their “Gigantes” jerseys at least once a year on Mexican Hertiage night at the ballpark. They’ve done this for a number of years now. (Note: They also do an Irish Heritage Night, Korean Heritage Night, etc., though they do not alter the team name on those nights).
The SF County Stoopid-visors can suck it. If the team specifically states that the “Gigantes” jersey is to protest the Arizona stance on illegal immigration, I will be in a quandary. My head will tell me to boycott the team for the remainder of 2010, yet my heart will long for games like last night’s 12 inning gem. Meh.

I'd love to see a massive selloff of season passes.
Why patronize an organization that agitates against your interests?

I went to a Washington Nationals Game around this time last year and the Nats were wearing “Los Nacionales” shirts. They were giving out t-shirts too. Is this really that unusual?

...supervisors are considering having some sort of action/vote/other where the San Francisco Giants baseball team would have to wear jerseys Gigantos... This sounds like a hoax. The city can't demand that a team change its name.
...of course, stranger things have happened.

Well the good news is that the San Diego Padres don’t have to do anything.

I’m pretty sure the Giants have been doing this for years. I know for certain that they wore these jerseys last year.

The only thing the Tigers should do with their uniform is the black armband in honor of Ernie Harwell.

I've been a Giants fan since they were in NYC, but refused to go to their games after they moved (now that's a boycott!).
I'm still living in NY, so it may not sound like much, however, I traveled a lot to the Bay area for my job and even refused free tickets more than a few times.
P.S. I caught last night's game and was juuuuuuuuust about to turn it off when Rowand came to bat w/ two outs in the 9th. Go Jints!

Arizona, Texas, other interested parties should enact bills to provide illegal aliens with one way bus tickets to San Francisco.

Didn't they also wear “Los Maricones” shirts in honor of the SF population? ;)

I suspect they will be doing something special tonight and probably again when they get back to Detroit.
