Fellow FReepers, I have just been told that my Grandpa is breathing his last breaths on this Earth. Everyone must pass, but what makes this one tough is that he was my own personal WWII hero. His name is John and on his first bomber mission over Germany in WWII, he was shot down and was a POW in Stalag 17B for the rest of the war. He had one of his hands smashed by a German rifle butt, he had some teeth kicked out by German Army boots, and he suffered severe frost bite on his lower legs. He was an easy target because he was 6'3". His job was being a gunner on a B-17. He lived a good Catholic life with no complaints.
I cannot possibly Thank your Grandfather enough, for risking his life for our future.
He will be well received no doubt.
Blessings on your family.

May God hold him in his heart and bless his job on earth. Prayers are with you and your family.
God Bless, John, God speed, and thank you.
In my prayers for you and your family I will thank God for your Grandfather and his service.
Prayers for you and your Hero Grandfather. I held my WW2 Hero Grandfather’s hand as he took his last breaths in August 2008. It was very painful, but also a great honor at the same time.
I pray that God will comfort you in your loss. And thankyou to your Grandfather for his service to this great country.

Through Jesus Christ, I pray.
So many of these ordinary/extraordinary men lived “life with no complaints.” I salute your grandfather, and you for the joy you must have brought him.
Our prayers are with your entire family and loved ones. God bless you and God bless America. May He raise up again a generation that will fight for freedom!
**a good Catholic life with no complaints.**
Hopefully he has received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
If not, please call a priest NOW!
God Bless Him and your family.
Prayers for an American Hero. Thank you Sir.
Prayers for him.
Thanks for the ping. A “thanks” and a prayer for Grandpa. America’s finest. Thank you for posting.
Your Grandfather is a hero to whom we owe much of our liberty. God has a new perfect body planned for him with no injuries, no scars, and not sore joints. He will run with the wind and never get tired. He will be healed for eternity. He will look for you on your home coming day. Don’t miss it.
Prayers Up for another WWII Hero and family.
My WWII Submariner father-in-law, my personal hero, passed away in March.
Prayers!
