Hey, if people can believe that Bush blew up the New Orleans levees, then people can believe that Earth First blew up the drill ship...

It used to be we would think terrorists from overseas and grab our tinfoil. Now we have this tickle in our brains that it might be domestic terrorists in the USA attempting to reinforce the regime’s plans.

Trillions of dollars are bet on the side of cap and trade happening. They’re not going to just walk away from that kind of money.

Not saying either is the cause, just remarking on the shift of suspicions.

Could these disasters be used to sway the masses away from domestic mining & oil production?

It doesn't really have to sway the masses. They are done with that. All the legislature needs is an excuse to ram something through, or to cancel all drilling contracts everywhere and then they can use these "accidents" to claim the public wants coal mining, oil drilling and gas refining to stop. All they need is an excuse.

We really need to get to November as fast as we can.

Didn’t the Kenyan recently approve of off shore drilling maybe two weeks ago?

Local Metallurgist on WJR today noted BP has had 3 major explosions, something in their business model or metallurgical? What are they doing different?

How big were the fires and explosions? Did they have massive oil leaks into the gulf just after the "president" spoke up about easing drilling regulations, did they lose lives, were they timed to go off about the same time two mining incidents and a refinery also had disasters?

I am not a conspiracy nut(or didn't use to be before Bozo)but these things look very suspicious coming all together as they do.

Also, why weren't the other explosions and fires publicized, could it be they were very minor in extent, given all the safe guards an oil rig has?

It does not happen all the time because the industry takes great precautions to prevent it. IF in this case they were running underpressure that is a big no no. Allows the higher pressure oil and gas to come out of the wellhead unexpectedly and most likely uncontrolled. The real question in my mind is why they cannot get the
BOP to shut off. It is also possible something just broke. If it is true that they had just plugged the well with concrete it could even be that they got the mix or the total weight wrong. It happens.

Drilling for oil has always been a very hazardous undertaking.

When I was in college (1966-1970), I had a good friend who was the only survivor of a blow-out on a drilling platform. (on land) He had severe burns and serious surgery to repair it. He was very lucky to survive. Also a great guy.

Rigs are much safer today, but still a dangerous place to work.

Big enough to cause 69 deaths and 1,349 injuries.

Ditto. Remember about 10 years back in NJ after a strange severely cold winter (with ten snow storms), an underground natural gas line cracked, leaked and exploded near my old man’s development 300AM in the morning. The entire sky was glowing red at night as the gas line burned before someone in the gas pipeline company finally shut the gas off. The burning fireball was so intense that it melted the paint on cars and shattered its windshields. The apartment complex next to the gas line had to be evacuated and luckily no one got hurt except for one heart attack.

Inquiring minds want to know. The MSM is too busy trying to make this look like another Katrina or Exxon Valdez. What safety factors failed? Did this platform survive Katrina? Hell was the rig an old design or a newer one? I'm sure Shepard Smith and Whorealdo are asking these same questions.[/sarc]

The idea was concocted in the White House as part of Obama's "Divide and Conquer" strategy, first suggested by Rahm Emmanuel. Sign a bill allowing more offshore oil exploration, then blow up a gulf oil rig so that in the ensuing environmental crisis, the prudent "walking-back" of Obama's offshore oil decision would be seen as a smart, necessary move, proving yet again just how invaluable it is for America to have The Magic Negro at the helm.

Bear in mind, while this is one man's conjecture on the topic, I do have the digitally-altered photographs to prove every word of it.

:-)

Is it time to take off the tin foil and put on the “Kevlar” ? Why has Obama very quietly and quickly sent “A” teams to exisiting oil rigs, and navy specialists to “examine” this and other sites ? Was there a warning sombody in the administration got before this happened ?

From what I read there were several systems in play to prevent such a catastophe. At that pressure it wouldn’t take much (explosive)to cause a fracture. A guided remotely controled package delivery system dropping off sphereical containers could do it. But the delivery system would have to be something special and might show up on satellite if its covering that area and images are kept. Also who’s got the money and nutty enough to do this ?
