So what does it take to cause an explosion on an offshore drilling rig?
How many explosions on offshore rigs have there been up 'til now?
Has anyone said anything about what caused this one to blow up?
What if I wanted to go blow up an offshore rig? How would I do it?
Dynamite
The timing of this was highly coincidental. and convenient.
Just one progressive commie with an agenda
Venezualen divers paid by George Soros.
Some thing explosive and a spark.
I dunno. Ask Dick Cheney. Didn’t he blow the levee up?
When drilling, they can hit a pocket of high pressure natural gas. The pressure is higher than the valves can handle so it vents back out. When you have a cloud of natural gas around the rig, even a small spark can set it off.
Between this and the latest coal mine tragedies one has to wonder.
Yeah, I know, the tin foil might be too snug-but seriously, with this bunch in charge how can you not be suspicious?
It’s been a looooooong time since we’ve had any probs with our oil rigs now all of a sudden we get this and for some reason they can’t seem to get a handle on it?!
Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. The fact that such a rare occurrence happened right before earth day makes me wonder.
Somebody threw a span, and they threw it in the hole. Industrial disease.
I dunno, how many human torpedos does it take to sink a South Korean navy ship?
Cheney and Bush blew up the levies, using the same planner they used to destroy the WTC
It was Karl Rove’s weather machine that created the hurricane

The ever-inquisitive media doesn’t seem to give a damn what caused it. It’s an “environmental disaster,” it’s going to poison the western hemisphere, and that is all we need to know.
If it was sabotage then a relatively small charge in the right place would do it. Sabotage to the BOP would of required a lot of preplanning and a team to execute. This smells like a simple case of doing the wrong thing at the wrong time with several back up systems failing all a once - likely? No. Possible? Yes.
and that is why oil rig explosions and the complete failure of blow out containment systems have been so common .... right
Hiyas. Someone was asking about the statistical probability of coal mine explosions and oil rig explosions happening in such close proximity from a time perspective. The poster mentioned there were 3 events in 1 week. He was going to look into probabilities, and he mentioned the stats would be telling.
What’s even scarier (to me) is this:
