A brand-new chapter dawns in the birther controversy over President Obama's hidden birth certificate.

The Hawaii legislature has now officially passed a measure that would allow state officials to legally ignore each month's dozens of repeated requests by persons or organizations seeking to see the infant Obama's actual birth certificate.

Instead of passing a law to ignore the American public, how about passing a law releasing a copy of the certificate? In fact, it doesn’t even have to be an all encompassing law, just a release of responsibility to the records department.

This would mean nothing if each of the other 49 states made submission of a valid birth certificate (not a COLB) a requirement to qualify for that state’s presidential ballot. It is to our eternal regret that this wasn’t in place prior to 2008.

It’s public records. Failing to comply with these requests for one particular person for the reason of it being a costly burden doesn’t suffice.

Charge a fee for it. Staff an office full of clerks to process the request. Heck, maybe turn a profit on the volume.

OR... Maybe all these requests flooding in suggests a lot of Americans have some serious doubts about mr. soetero.

Haven't they been doing this for two years now?

Hawaii is a mess and has been for many years. The locals have been wanted to secede from the US and become a Country. These as@ just don't get it that if it was not for the US to build their State they would still be throw virgins in the volcano.

The democrats of HI have circled their wagons around their Emperor, but will the Republican Governor go along and sign? Probably.

Well, of course I wouldn't expect the libs to actually pass a resolution allowing the release of the birth certificate, but the choice they seem to be facing is flipping the bird to thousands of American citizens or releasing a document. Of course the dems chose the flipping the bird to Americans route...but it wasn't the only option.

They’ve been jumping around the FOIA for years. Stating that they don’t understand the question being asked or sending information that clearly does not answer the question.

I believe MissTrickly received some sort of information to the fact that the COLB was amended, but they would not go any further than that. Now the question is why if amended does the supposed internet BC forgery state that the COLB was amended. That should be posted at the bottom and there is nothing there?

This new law should raise red flags, but we have no standing! We are no longer the people!

I should stop posting today - I think I’m cranky!

I'm real disappointed in Hawaii.

The next time I need a few days in an Island Paradise, I think I'll pick Tahiti or someplace like that...Hawaii has become way too commercialized anyway...at least on Oahu.

I'm wondering if there is language in this law to prevent any court from getting the document via subpoena? Anyone know? Or does a subpoena override everything?

Hawaii keeps officially validating that they have Barry’s original and publicly unseen birth certificate sealed.
And yet, the media and the great uninformed like O’Reilly and FOX reporters keep reporting that Barry’s birth certificate has been posted on line.
Now, they are passing a law which allows them to ignore
“ vexatious requestors “ who bother them with requests for more info on the birth certificate.
That they tell us they have.
Imagine the state of Connecticut doing this with George W. Bush’s birth certificate
and other “ original vital records.”
The outcry from the media and the Democrats would be deafening.

You will never find a judge with the courage to sign a subpoenae.

True. I gave on Lingle long ago. However; in her defense, even if she did veto this, the Dem controlled legislature could easily override it.

hmm...I think we need Leo’s take on this, as far as legal ramifications if someone is actually granted standing against the usurper.
