In honour of Earth Day we Conservatives should create our own kind of 'Recycling' Program to save and disperse any metal we throw out.
Considering that once the DNC the Democratic National Communists gets through with trashing the Constitution with regards to the First Amendment, you can bet dollars to donuts that the next step will be to try and disarm the law-abiding.
Towards that end, we should all be considering How we can at least safeguard some of our firearms.
Step one would of course be building or obtaining a waterproof container that can be hidden away. Some vendors at guns shows have been selling elongated metal boxes with rubber seals. Clearly some manufacturers are already anticipating a need for such a product.
You could use a commercial made container or perhaps some plastic pipe big enough to hold what you need to be held and sealed on one end with an end cap. Fit the other end with a threaded fitting that will accept a threaded plug that can readily seal the other end.
Stash it underground or make it look like a fence post, it's your choice.
Step two would be making sure it won't be too easy to find your hardware that's were your own metal recyclable program comes into play. Save any metal containers from the kitchen Pie tins, foil, etc. Anything metallic. Save some brass on your trips to the range to practice it's a non-ferrous metal and as a bonus it will have the scent of propellants for any canine searchers.
As Sun Tzu once said: "Supreme excellence consists of breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." Our 'Rulers' should know that if they try to disarm the law-abiding, they aren't going to be entirely successful, that should make them stop and think about it all before trying to do that in the first place.
If it’s time to bury them, it’s time to dig them up.
In 1994 before the elections and the great American sigh of relief, the gun mags all had ads for gun storage kits that were sections of mostly 8 inch plastic pipe and caps and glue. They sold a lot of them and Scotty’s sold a lot of 8” plastic pipe to individuals who felt they could make their own. A lot of property outside of town was bought for a similar reason.
Yes, I’ve heard that, but my concept is to have an extra set Stashed Away as an insurance policy.
I’m not saying that you bury All of your guns just some of them.
Old steel nails were essentially mulched into my lawn by the asshats who tore off my roof.
I tried to use a metal detector and/or big magnet to find them and then just put St. Augustine on top.
Yes, that’s part of my rationale I’m just extending it a little further by making it clear that it won’t be that easy for the gun grabbers to just show up with a metal detector and a brace of bloodhounds.
I’ve also considered setting up the scrap in a specific pattern in case you need a hole dug some where like for a new pool or an addition to your house.
That way if they show up with a metal detector and a backhoe, you can at least get them to dig something useful, but it might be hard to arrange that kind of thing, so I may be getting a little ahead of myself.
A couple of months ago there was a long thread on this by some that had tried it and dug up the guns a year later. You have to be sure that condensation doesn’t get into the case and make ammo useless or rust the gun....Don’t remember what was used but something to take into consideration when preparing to bury....
Mine will be easy to find if they come looking for them. I’ll be holding them in my hands.
There was a GREAT thread here on FR years ago about exactly how to do what you’re suggesting.
I thought I had it saved on my profile page, but I can’t find it.
If they show up why not just shoot them !
That’s the ticket !
Does it make better tactical sense to shoot at them, or to let them certify you “gun-free” having missed the arsenal under the sewer pipe? Think about it...
Unless your organized, all the weapons in the world won’t matter.
You mean you aren’t organized yet?
Surrounded by idiots . Waitin’ for Ludwig Beck.
Ah, yes. Well, if you look at the forest hard enough, you may be able to see some trees...the smart ones are trying to blend in. Some of those “idiots’ just might surprise you.
Just put a couple of fake “ducts” in your attic and hide the stuff in there.
:-)
Same here.
