In 1994 before the elections and the great American sigh of relief, the gun mags all had ads for gun storage kits that were sections of mostly 8 inch plastic pipe and caps and glue. They sold a lot of them and Scotty’s sold a lot of 8” plastic pipe to individuals who felt they could make their own. A lot of property outside of town was bought for a similar reason.

Yes, that’s part of my rationale – I’m just extending it a little further by making it clear that it won’t be that easy for the gun grabbers to just show up with a metal detector and a brace of bloodhounds.

I’ve also considered setting up the scrap in a specific pattern in case you need a hole dug some where like for a new pool or an addition to your house.

That way if they show up with a metal detector and a backhoe, you can at least get them to dig something useful, but it might be hard to arrange that kind of thing, so I may be getting a little ahead of myself.

A couple of months ago there was a long thread on this by some that had tried it and dug up the guns a year later. You have to be sure that condensation doesn’t get into the case and make ammo useless or rust the gun....Don’t remember what was used but something to take into consideration when preparing to bury....
