Wife Hacks Husband's Car Forum Account, Divorces Him With It
Jalopnik ^ | April 22, 2010 | Matt Hardigree

An Acura forum member posted an idiotic screed about his wife's jealousy of his car, an Acura TL. His wife found it, hacked his account and used it to divorce him.

Men complaining about their wives on car forums is about as common as old men complaining about kids trampling their yards. That's why this particular example, an Acura TL owner on the car forum Acurazine, is particularly egregious and stupid. In fact, it was so bad, other car-loving members of the forum were forced to remind their brother-in-automotive-arms that his beloved car is just a car, and that his family is more important. Here's the ridiculousness:

I’m not saying it is in my experience, either.

I’m just saying that, by it’s very nature, marriage requires a man to reign in his urges and compromise with who he naturally is.

Similar circumstance:

My sister A married the drummer/manager of a relatively famous band and he had a Facebook account. He was getting too much hassle from fans, so he changed his marital status from MARRIED to blank. One of my other sisters B saw this and called my sister A to tell her that he might be sneaking around (he used to date one of the backup singers).

Sister A knew about this already and it was no big deal, but it started a HUGE fight.

You never know.
Through other friends, I found a guy with whom I had a major fistfight in 8th grade.

Pretty cool guy, he’s a rock promoter with six kids.

I never would’ve guessed.

Word.

That being said I have a facebook, and I’m quite happy to have my own. As for ‘friending’ the wife, if she’s my wife she knows my friends too. If she doesn’t like my friends then she needs to deal with it.

I’m not gonig to complain about hers and that is a two way street. I’d also have her passwords and her mine. That’s the only way it would work.

Good car, but it is not that nice or that fast.

That's not true - I spent $17,000 for stickers and a 9" (152dB) exhaust for my car and it flies now! /s

Tell me about it. I blocked the FarmVille application, and I STILL have to see their stupid FarmVille photos, and how they need a board and a nail or some such crap to finish their barn.

A while back, I posted a status saying that I need a BUNCH of boards and nails so that I can build a jail for the people responsible for FarmVille.

Certain FB friends were not amused.

Is this the one that reads like, “Davey needs a tractor, please help him find it.”?

I’ve seen that one, but a number of them are always posting that they need this or that to finish their barn. Irritating.

Been gone a long time. Just working and stuff. Missing the fun. How’s things? All is well, for the most part, here. The usual drama and crap, you know.

While I agree that it''s taking it too far to combine, what is wrong with one's wife being a friend? My husband and I have over 40 mutual friends on facebook and I am the one who talked him into it over time. His first status: "I never give in to peer pressure, but at times will give in to the request of a beautiful woman." Of course, all of our mutual friends thought I had made the account for him. I was just as surprised as they were.

What annoys me is when people make mushy squishy comments on nearly every of their spouse's status. I wonder, can't they just talk in person?

First of all, who gets that attached to a TL?

Exactly - it's a *Honda* with nicer seats. One of the vehicles of choice for middle-of-the-pack real estate agents (up until the housing market cratered).

If you're going to take a beating in divorce court, let it be over a Porsche 911, an E-Type Jag or a restored musclecar. Something worthwhile.
