Anyone know if DirecTV is picking up RightNetwork when it debuts this Summer?
A show I'm too embarrased to admit watching | 4 /20/2010 | DGHoodini

During a commercial break of a show I was watching tonight, I flipped to a channel, (to a show I refuse to name) and heard of 'RightNetwork', a new right leaning channel that will make it's debut this summer(?), a leading proponent of the channel is Kelsey Grammar.

For now, I gather, that it is going to start as an On Demand network, (Not really sure what that means). But from the promo I saw, it looks like a network for me.

Anyone in the know?

I would love to change to DishNetwork..right now we pay 105 bucks a month for Time Warner Cable, we have one digital box, doesn’t have much, in fact, if you were to see the channels we have, you would laugh, we hardly have anything..so the TV is 79.99 plus its 35 bucks for the Internet but it comes in a package deal so it makes it a little bit cheaper..if it weren’t for the internet, we would leave, but we haven’t been able to find any provider that has high speed internet in my area(All we have is DSL which we dont want) so that is the deal breaker unfortunately

Yep...could be good...I liked some of the comedy, but it will take a while for a lot of the comics themselves to get over the shock of being able to be a REAL comedian making fun of liberals...then they will need time to get some good routines down...could be good.

I remember the days of basic broadcast with two UHF channels.

You had UHF? All we had was the big 3 broadcast networks, and all on VHF.

I was nearly out of high-school before we got a PBS station on UHF.

Consider yourself lucky to have terrestrial over-the-air television! Where I am at, if you don’t have satellite TV, you don’t have any TV.

I finally got a PBS station 2 year ago, and that's only because Dish Network now carries my local stations.

Nothing worse than subsidizing a station that has never been available to me for over 20 years.

For now, I gather, that it is going to start as an On Demand network, (Not really sure what that means).

On-demand means you can watch any of their programming whenever you want and not at some pre-determined time. Some cable companies and both DirecTV and Dish satellite services offer a service called "Video On Demand". Digital Video Recorders which are popular these days, replacing the VCR, are another example of on-demand programming. Many premium channels have on-demand programming. HBO and Showtime are two examples. For example, HBO's recent series "The Pacific" is offered on-demand to subscribers of HBO's service.
