Is it possible to actually "love" an animal- like a cat or dog? Any Freepers love their pet? How about those with non-traditional pets? Anyone love their cow, horse, snake or pig?
In another context, I would probably say that I love dogs; but since you asked so specifically about it, I thought I should be true to the definition of the word as I understand it.
Thank you!
She’s a real good girl and is great with our children.
Thank you very much!
I really appreciate this thread, it comes at a very relevant time for me personally.
Nala is indeed a noble canine and as far as crocodilians go, I would say Bill was as noble as they come Thanks again!
You’re welcome very much!
>>What a beautiful girl. Um..who did the artwork?
Thanks! That’s my own handiwork. :) If she could be made aware of it, she’d laugh at herself... just like your standard friendliest-dog-in-the-world Labbie does with just about everything that comes her way. She never met a person that didn’t need a good full-body-wag welcoming.
Wow, that is a gorgeous dog!
Thank you! Both are so much fun and high energy, they keep me on my toes.
My girl just started training for flyball, but her drive was non-existent when I got her in November, so we're working on that. It is night and day, though, how far she's come since becoming my dog. She's a former show dog, which is why she gets the princess nickname.
Close on the breed. They're Belgian Sheepdogs- Groenendael.
This is a still image of the boy running flyball:
To add: both just had their yearly check up. The boy is 42lbs, the girl is 41lbs. They are usually between 55-70lbs. Both of mine, though, are more petite. The jock looks twice as big as the princess because he has his mature coat.
They are certainly a couple of beautiful sweetie pies
You didn’t answer my question.
Ooh...hesitation. Maybe your neighbor is half an animal?
I didn’t mean to be dismissive about Bill. I know that bonds are formed with all types of pets, and the loss is difficult, especially after so many years.
We had to put our little dog to sleep when she was about 15 yrs. old, so I know the sadness you and your family must be feeling at losing Bill, and my heart goes out to you.
I held a baby alligator at an alligator farm and petting zoo when I was a child. I remember how cute it was, but seeing the adults kept me from wanting to bring it home. Ha.
I guess you must have gotten your croc when he was a baby. I was wondering how difficult it was to adjust to and accommodate the changes as he grew, and did he enjoy being petted, etc.
You didn’t ask a question, you big nut; you made a statement. *I* asked a question.
Of course I hesitated, that’s a tough question; what you have there is a well considered, honest answer.
Ok...well you’re question insinuates that you would only rescue someone if they are conscience of that fact.
I have and will probably continue to rescue creatures of various kinds; I would only risk my life, or allow those under my authority to risk their lives, for a fellow human being.
I lost a big chunk of my heart when my husband and I had to put down the cat we adopted as a kitten shortly after we were married. She developed brain cancer at thirteen.
I know there isn’t solid Scripture to support pets in heaven, but I think we’ll get those chunks of heart back when our pets greet us, tails wagging, wondering, “what took you so long?”
I have an 11-year old Tonkinese named Perri. When her time comes it’ll be devastating for me, and I treasure every day I have with her...even when she meows at 2AM because she’s lonely.
