A MONSTER hammerhead shark caught off NSW's northern coast could soon become a Queensland tourism attraction.
Famed Hervey Bay shark hunter Vic Hislop has bought the 1200kg, 5m monster and this week transported the amazing catch to Queensland.

This shark, swallow you whole.
Oh. My. Gwad.

Gonna need a bigger boat.
The shark looks a bit like the monsters in the sci-fi horror movie “Pitch Black”.
As a college student, I’ve rented apartments smaller than that fish.
Doesn’t look as fearsome as a great white. Pathetic looking really. Too bad it had to die.
Gotta love these journos.
“The huge shark made headlines in northern NSW last month when it was caught by a fishing boat four nautical miles off the coast of Evans Head.”
Looks like the Aussies are training fishing boats to go out and catch sharks these days.
“At 5m long, the shark is longer than a family car and could probably comfortably fit a few family members inside its massive belly.”
Wait a minute. He kinda looks like a baby. Come here. I’m gonna eat ya! I’m bigger than you! I’m higher in the food chain. Get in my belly!
25!
It's LIVER weighed over 500lbs.
It was caught two miles off shore from Coronado beach.
Correction: It was EIGHTEEN (18) ft and 2800 lbs.
Former community organizer, worked for the Obama campaign, was Raum’s college roommate.
I’ve had at least one tiger shark come up to our boat that was bigger than that, and several that would be only a little smaller. In each case they came up our berley slick while targeting tuna out at the shelf, each time we thought it prudent to abandon the trail and move on. Tigers have been known to poke their heads over the transom pursuing your catch, or the bait, if you reel it in on them. The biggest one we saw could have easily done that to my 25 footer.
...forgot to mention, each of my encounters was up around northen NSW. It’s a magnificent fishing area as there are a couple of oceanic currents that meet there, with the corrensponding abundance of large pelagics. Huge range of species available at different times of the year.
