What a great story when everybody is fawning all over the Tiger story, the real husband wins one for his sick wife. You couldn't script this one in a Disney movie when the rival who is always runner up pulls one out for his wife and mother who both are fighting cancer.
Perhaps his wife's battle with cancer puts things like golf tournaments into perpective. He certainly didn't have his usual battle with nerves.
Congratualtions Phil, you make us all proud.
Pray for Amy and Mary Mickelson
Buddhism?
U must mean BOOTISISM
That putter may have more to do with back problems than yips...if he can keep his back from being a factor he still has some good golf ahead.
I’d rather play against a poor loser than any kind of winner.
Usually you look back and you can see examples of bad character all along...Tiger looked like plastic to me for years...
Freddie is one of the old school golfers who had personality. He is a pleasure to watch. The 16 yr old was a great story too, is he from Italy?
Heh Heh. You like that Birdie Sandie Greenie dough.
Phil is a devoted family man.
The family has been thru rough times before. When his son was born, they struggled with then too. I don’t remember the exact story but the little boy’s health was at risk some way.
They have started several funds for those in need.
At one time they contributed x amount of dollars for every birdie or eagle to charity.
Now they have a special thing going asking children to nominate their teachers for a special program Phil and Amy have going for helping teachers reach out better to their students.
Want more proof? Google their names and be surprised.

Yes, and a really good fellow! I was pulling for him from the start but at 50, it is a rough hill to climb. He played better than most of the under 30 golfers and at least had a chance to pull it out. It was a great Masters for him though.
Don't know...my concentration was on Phil, Freddy and Tom Watson...and the Angel's game on another channel...:o)
I do believe that was one of my major points! I agree and now tend to look at Tiger as an aberration to the sport...
I was hoping that interviewer at the end would ask him how many and which whores he was flying in for his post-tournament party, since his wife wasn’t there to spy on him.
He said him and Phil were texting 2 nights ago how to get into the hunt. You could bet Freddie was happy Phil won if he couldn’t. This was one of the great sports story’s in a long time.

Take a look at this about their Foundation and all the help they spread to those in need.
I am proud of them both. This is the way to “spread the wealth” in a positive way.
Do we hear about this from the media????? Of course not!
I don't know how people separate a sport skill from the personality...to me it is a package. If I think you are a scumbag as a person I don't give a damn how talented you are with a golf club.
Sad, but true...
I turned it off right after the green jacket presentation...I knew the media would be all about Tiger no matter what...what a rip-off for Phil...
Absolutely no one does believe that he’s going to do anything but what he’s always done as a pro.
Certainly I don’t and you don’t. We’ll see what happens.
Maybe he can turn the page and be a better father/husband/person, but he’ll have to EARN it.
I think the game of “golf” needed this win today by this man, husband, father and son.
He has raised the level for the game instead of a spoiled brat womanizer.
I thank God for him and his wife and their foundation.
Couples has got to be kicking himself in the butt for missing a half dozen putts under 5 feet - just today.
"He coulda been a contenduh"........there's just nobody better than Freddy for getting out of jams, and then blowing it.
