Congratulations Phil Mickelson, Good Guy Wins Augusta

What a great story when everybody is fawning all over the Tiger story, the real husband wins one for his sick wife. You couldn't script this one in a Disney movie when the rival who is always runner up pulls one out for his wife and mother who both are fighting cancer.

Perhaps his wife's battle with cancer puts things like golf tournaments into perpective. He certainly didn't have his usual battle with nerves.

Congratualtions Phil, you make us all proud.

Pray for Amy and Mary Mickelson

Very well said!

Phil is a class act and proved it once again today. The best for his wife, mother and family.

I liked the fact that Lee Westwood wore a red shirt too. A subtle slap to tiger.

Not sure if you would call that shot from behind the tree and over the water by 3 ft conservative. I would say he quit playing conservative and trusted his game more than ever before.

That said, he had some amazing shots yesterday and today, off the charts. Winning w/birdie was icing.

how can you not like Freddy?

"Boom Boom" is still accurate for Freddy...even though he is a "round belly" now as Lee Trevino once referred to old guys...he can still crank the big dog out there with the flat bellies...and a classy guy to boot.

Phil is an honorable husband, father and son. That’s why the mediots are not interested in him.

I was rooting for anyone but Tiger. Phil’s devotion to his wife stands in sharp contrast to Tiger’s behavior. Good job Lefty.

How do we know he is a “Good Guy?” Maybe he just hasn't been caught yet? Like before Senator Edwards was caught?

Heh, true!... The difference is that he only made desperate shots when he had to - not when he wanted to. Maybe that is in part due to his caddie - but he did not take driver several times when the 3-wood would do, smart. If you’re right and he still took chances, well maybe this time it worked...heh. I think his caddie held him in check for a change...

Tiger couldn’t put it in the hole? Imagine that.

Perhaps we now all know why Mickelson never got along w/Woods. He probably knew the whole story from day one.

Anybody who ever watched Tiger’s act on the course told you he had issues. How does the best golfer in the world throw clubs and Fbombs?

I was hoping Couples could win one for us old guys. His putter failed him but he put the ball in play. He had a shot. Woods was AWFUL!

How do we know he is a “Good Guy?”

So now we're guilty until proven innocent?

Same goes for Drudge.
Last time I looked, he just had photos of Woods not of the victor.

Yep I'd have been happy with either Fred or Phil...good day either way for different reasons..

Not to worry, soon enough Tiger will screw up his image of being “rehabbed” just like he screwed up his original image.
Anyone who believes the guy can go from - banging everything in sight, knocking up hos and then aiding in abortions, and acting like a spoiled brat on the course - to Mr. Clean is delusional. This whole supposed rehab thing is just for his corporate image anyway. And he’s turning back to Buddhism? Sure, he was a model of peace and control on the course this weekend with his GDs, JCs and club pounding.

I know he missed 4 or five inside 10 ft. He has a belly putter of some sort.

Comparing him to Edwards is uncalled for. I guess since everybody says it, his wife and family love him and after 20 yrs no hint of cheating, I’ll give him the benefit.

Edwards was a good guy before the sex scandal? Really? I thought he was a preening lying douche ambulance chaser
