An airplane that towed banners taunting Tiger Woods about his sex scandal during the Masters has been ordered to stop until it undergoes minor repairs.

Kathleen Bergen, an Atlanta-based spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, said Friday that FAA flight safety inspectors issued the order after meeting with the plane's pilot.

The single-engine Cessna made two flights near Augusta National as Woods played Thursday in the first round of the Masters, close enough that the banners could be read from the course.

The timing of the inspection must have been a coincidence. ;-)

And this was done because Tiger is half-asian, of course, and Our Dear Leader once attended an religiously innocuous educational institution in Indonesia...../sarc

Players gotta backup players, bro.

I imagine the PGA wasn’t real happy about those messages. :-)

Number one rule: Don’t draw attention to yourself! Anything controversial will inspire the authorities to take a closer look, so make sure the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed.

I don't think the PGA is REALLY happy about Tiger...period.

I'm hoping he takes a whoopin'...I'd rather watch class acts with a little lower scores than a class a**.

That sounds like my uncle who was blinking his headlights to warn people of a speed trap ahead. The cops saw it and decided that anyone with headlights blinking like that must have some type of safety problem so he needed a full roadside safety inspection.

LOL... gotta admit it’s clever.

Once or twice around Augusta is funny... but to keep flying around all day kinda ruins the joke.

That was my first thought although I guess you could make the argument that flying over the Masters crowd raised safety issues that merited an inspection. probably the pga put them up to it.

More likely, some wealthy and powerful Augusta member called a buddy at the FAA.

Last time I checked the PGA wasn’t the arbiter of protected speech — unless of course you call out their cash cow for the phony that he is.
