Apple Sells 300,000 iPads on First Day

Apple Inc. said Monday it sold more than 300,000 iPads in the U.S., including preorders, on the first day the device was available.

The company didn't give a precise figure, but the tally was below the estimates of some analysts.

Buyers flocked to stores starting Saturday after weeks of publicity about the tablet-style computer.

Apple hadn't offered iPad sales forecasts, but over the weekend, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster more than doubled his initial first-day sales estimate to between 600,000 and 700,000 units, including preorders, based on longer-than-expected lines at stores and high expectations for online preorders. He had also lifted his 2010 forecast to 5.5 million units from 2.8 million.

So... I told you exactly what I thought was funny .... LOL ....What I find "real funny" is how others expect those who are working and doing just fine to stop spending their money and stop going out and stop getting the good products that they want to use, because the neighbor down the street is out of work ... LOL ...

And, this is a notion that you've conjured up between your own ears because I said nothing at all about wanting anyone to quit spending money because someone else is having a rough go of it in the current economy. Somehow, you have attributed this notion to me and I have said nothing remotely resembling your comment.

Now, I'm always of the opinion that "If the shoe fits, then wear it!" ... LOL ...

And if the shoe doesn't fit, then no big deal. BUT, whether the shoe fits or not -- that's exactly what I think is funny... LOL ...

LOL ... just when I thought I hit on something "funny" -- you come up with some even more funny... that's hilarious... :-)

You're on a thread where people discuss what they think and you engage in it -- and then you don't like what I think is funny -- and you're going to report this to the moderators...

I can't help it, but that's the funniest thing I've read in months.... LOL ...

But, I will help you out here a little bit, and "give you a clue" -- since you really need one here....

It's always been my practice here on Free Republic that if someone doesn't want to talk to me, then I just forget it. Of course, I never leave something unsaid that I don't agree with before leaving, but that's just me...

Once I've said it, I'm done.

NOW... what I've found (many times actually) is that there are people (here, actually) who say, "I don't want to talk to you anymore...) and yet they keep talking to you... but then they get mad when you talk back to them... doncha know... LOL ...

All I tell them is -- if you don't want me talking to you -- stop talking to me... and then I'm done...

Now... there's the biggest "clue" you're gonna get these days for making your "quality of life" on Free Republic much more enjoyable...

AND, please, take this into consideration too... while you're mulling this over... and I only suppy this as a quote from someone else...

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.
1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.
Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.
