Apple Inc. said Monday it sold more than 300,000 iPads in the U.S., including preorders, on the first day the device was available.
The company didn't give a precise figure, but the tally was below the estimates of some analysts.
Buyers flocked to stores starting Saturday after weeks of publicity about the tablet-style computer.
Apple hadn't offered iPad sales forecasts, but over the weekend, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster more than doubled his initial first-day sales estimate to between 600,000 and 700,000 units, including preorders, based on longer-than-expected lines at stores and high expectations for online preorders. He had also lifted his 2010 forecast to 5.5 million units from 2.8 million.

“In the meantime, Macintosh users just go right on using their secure system, without any antivirus program, because they don't need one... what a deal! :-)
Yeah that's why it's had more security holes than a sieve. Just one single patch had a massive EIGHTY EIGHT security holes in it.:

I make that over 140 security holes in just this tiny fraction of Apple security hole lists. But hey, "it just works". Chortle!
Windows 7 = 90 million sold. (Impressive)
ipad = 300,000 sold (JOKE)
Windows 7 = 1 million apps
ipad = 3,000 apps (HUH?)
And hey?
Since the ipad was launched, Windows 7 has probably sold another 6 million again, further increasing the gap with your ipad.
Every single day Windows 7 will continue to vastly outsell the ipad, so the gap with the ipad will just keep growing from the 90 million back in January(it's probably 120 million by now), and continue to leave the ipad in the dust forever. When you wake up every morning, just bow to your lord and master, Windows 7 (like 0bama keeps bowing to all these foreigners), and we won't say any more about it, ok? Chuckle!
My Windows 7 laptop is so secure, I have been using Windows 7 for 2 years since beta, with not even single security breach on it.
Well..., I don't know why you're so scared of not running your anti-virus program then ... LOL ...
Macintosh users never have to run theirs, as you well know... there's no need. They know that their system is so secure that none is needed.
HOWEVER, I do understand your reluctance to getting rid of your anti-virus program -- it would scare me to death, too -- if I had Windows ... LOL ...
Yeah that's why it's had more security holes than a sieve.
Yep, sure enough... LOL ... that's why all those Macintosh users lose sleep at night worrying about it ... NOT! :-)
Heck! We don't worry about that, nothing happens. I'm still waiting for the first Windows user that I can find (out of millions of them) who trusts their system enough to run it without an anti-virus program -- like Macintosh users do all the time with Mac OS X ... doncha know...
If Microsoft is giving me a free Microsoft Security Essentials download, as part of my Windows 7 install process, why on earth would I refuse it?
Windows Security essentials would be part of Windows 7 anyways, if not for anti-trust complaints from anti-virus makers., so just considfer it as part of the operating system.
Bottom line is, my Windows 7 is as solid on security as they come. To quote a certain company with small market share, “Windows 7 just works”.
A superb operating system.
“Macintosh users never have to run theirs, as you well know... there's no need. They know that their system is so secure that none is needed. “
"None is needeed"? Like these? Chortle!

Tell me..why would a ‘secure” operating system need to the tune of EIGHTY EIGHT security hole patches in just one go?
Surely, its already secure, no?
Why patch holes in something that doesn't have holes?
Yeah..thats why they are still at less than 5% in market share woldwide, and are still being outsold by Toshiba. They are “leading the way” alright..from the BACK! LOL!
If Microsoft is giving me a free Microsoft Security Essentials download, as part of my Windows 7 install process, why on earth would I refuse it?
Well, that's simple... to test out the security of the operating system... doncha know ... LOL ...
The Macintosh users have such a secure operating system with Mac OS X that they don't ever have to run an anti-virus program. They don't have any problems at all, doncha know ... :-)
So, as soon as I can find a single Windows person that will run their Windows operating system without an Anti-virus program, then I'll let you know how the test between the two went.
But, I'm kinda doubting that we'll ever see that kind of test -- since the Windows users are scared half-to-death to run their systems without the anti-virus program like the Macintosh users do all the time... LOL ...
Just don't "hold your breath" while I try to find a single Windows user to to that ... :-)
They are “on the move alright”.... from the bottom of the pile. Chortle!
Nobody messes with Joe..ummm I mean Apple. Hey, with less than market 5% share, they might sue you for “hate speech” and “crimes against minorities” if you trash them too much. LOL!
Now why would I do that when Microsoft themselves recommend your download it right after installing Win 7?
I have tested the security of my operating system for two solid years, and windows 7 came out with flying colors.
” The Macintosh users have such a secure operating system with Mac OS X that they don't ever have to run an anti-virus program. They don't have any problems at all, doncha know ... :-) “
Yeah..88 security holes in juss one patch secure right?

Yup.
They have been beaten by Toshiba in PC sales yet again. And Toshiba sells mainly laptops, and still they are beating Apple. LOL!
Now why would I do that when Microsoft themselves recommend your download it right after installing Win 7?
Well..., you're just confirming it again... I'll never find a Windows user that will run his system without an anti-virus program... LOL ...
I guess the Max OS X users are the only ones that can do that.
BUT, as I said, if I were a Windows users, it would scare the hell out of me to run without that anti-virus program, to be sure ... :-)
At least the Macintosh users know which system is more secure since they don't have to worry about those nasty viruses on their system ... doncha know ... LOL ...
Oh no!
We can't have someone download a free “patch”(Microsoft Security Essentials) when the OS vendor(Microsoft) advises them to do so can we?
Sooo...Tell me then..did you do this download from Apple to patch a massive 88 security holes in your OSX when Apple advised you to or not?

Yeah..”leading the way so much that they got clobbered by Toshiba yet again, a company that mainly sells just laptops, and entered the PC business long after apple did.
“Apple keeps “moving ahead” buying its own chip manufacturing capability and adding another one, according to another article posted here earlier... :-) “
Chortle.
Will you excuse me while I laugh?
Now if you think your little pipsqueak Apple, is even on the same planet as Toshiba is, when it comes to sheer technology, you are out of your bloody mind.
Chips?
Toshiba has been making chips since Steve Jobs was in kindergarten
And for your information, Toshiba designs and builds..wait for it..NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS (Toshiba is one of the three leaders of the global nuclear industry ) .
Lemme know when Apple comes even within a million miles of that technology will ya?
To even compare Apple to Toshiba is laughable.
Does it mean I can't get you to unisntall all them 88 security holes fixes you got from Apple in just one patch alone?

Well, finally -- you might try to run without any anti-virus program... we'll have to try that... LOL ...
Are you ready to run that system that you say is secure for a year, along with mine running for a year to see how it shakes out ... :-)
You have made huge downloads to fix security holes in your OSX when your masters at Apple have ordered you to.
Windows 7 users on the other hand, are politely advised to download Microsoft Security Essentials free from Microsoft (or alternatives), as well as use Window Update to bring their computers up to date, right after installing Windows 7.
Same thing.
What matters is how the 2 compare after they are up to date with recommended updates. Windows 7 is inherently more secure.
