The Helen Thomas pictures thrown into so many threads are tiresome

Inspired by an interesting thread regarding an actor who refused to do love scenes with an attractive female actress. Inevitably somebody thinks its "funny" to throw in a picture of Helen Thomas. This extremely tiresome "joke" has been run into the ground.

Looking it up she was born in 1920. So every day someone feels the need to point how that a 90 year old woman isn't a babe. And we have to shout that out a dozen times a day in threads that have no relation whatsoever to the Washington Press Corps. Aren't we so clever.

It's nothing clever, it's nothing witty, it's nothing civil. It's just a low cheap shot. In theory aren't we supposed to be better then this. Can't we give it a rest, or at the very least stop with the off-topic use of the pictures.

Why, my dear, Helen’s many years of thinking ignorant, hateful and wrongheaded thoughts have made her homely. She’s a Washington insider whose whole career has been about toadying up to liberals and Democrats. She’s a hag inside and out. Her ridiculous ideas have caused her to turn herself into a joke.

Most of the photos are offered in good fun. It helps to laugh about someone so misguided— especially when one realizes the trash this woman writes has been published for decades.

It’s okay to point out someone’s a hateful fool, when they are. And it’s okay to be repulsed by evil.

Seeing the before and after pictures of Helen makes me realize how important it is to do facial muscle exercises. As I physical therapist I do them myself. I’d have to shoot myself if I ever looked in the mirror and saw Helen looking back.
