So sad. We often read about the bonds humans share with animals but rarely recognize the bond they share with each other.
I had two cats that were inseparable. They bonded instantly from the time I brought one home as a kitten. Dusty, the younger one, was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 10 and put down with a month of diagnosis. It broke my heart. Her 13 year old buddy, Whammy, went into grief mode and never recovered. He joined his buddy at the Rainbow Bridge 3 months later. Whammy just couldn't live without his friend, no matter how much love and affection I gave him.

Driving into work today I saw two road kill beavers within about twenty feet. I assume they must have been mates. :( Now I’m not a sensitive kinda guy but hate to see animals run over by a car.
