I really loved that. Hubby had a ukelele...he strummed keys and sang with it. If that was Burt playing, thats good ‘ukelele playing’. I have hubby’s uke at my big fireplace! Hubby did play a mean harmonica! Those were just hobbies of his!
Guess your eyes are better by the day....that’s wonderful!

Thanks, I’ll keep every one posted as my sister keeps me posted on Haley’s progress. They think she is over the biggest hurdlers. The hospital stay should be 2 weeks.
Lasting life long effects are the biggest worry now.

I know. If that first hospital had it’s act together they would have found the cause of the fever and started treatment hours sooner. She kept spiking 103-0-105 fevers...danger levels. Take her home give her tylenol...give me a break, if Haley had been an illegal she’d been given IV’s and kept in the hospital.

May the Everlasting Arms embrace these two heroes:
Sgt. Ronald A. Kubik, USA
Sgt. Jason A. Santora, USA
We thank you, fallen brothers. And, we shall not forget!

Was thinking of Lady X yesterday. Still hard to believe she is not with us any longer, always loved her clever upbeat posts with the cute little pix along the way as part of her train of thought.
I Miss our Dear Lady Maggie; what a Beautiful, Radiant, and Sweet Soul she had.
It will be Wonderful to See her Again One Day.

A Universe Of Humanity
Paul . . . received all who came to him. Acts 28:30
During the 1920s and 30s, photographer August Sander set out to portray a cross-section of German society. Through his lens he saw factory workers and financiers, actresses and housewives, Nazis and Jews. Even though his published collection contains only people in and around his hometown of Cologne, he captured what David Propson, writing in
The Wall Street Journal, called a universe of humanity in his restricted sphere.
That phrase strikes me as an apt description of our lives and the people we meet day by day. Wherever we live, we cross paths with people from many backgrounds and beliefs.
For years, the apostle Paul traveled and preached before being imprisoned in Rome. There he continued to touch people with the gospel because he cared about them and wanted them to know Jesus Christ. The book of Acts concludes with Paul confined in Rome, living under guard in a rented house, where he received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 28:30-31).
Instead of focusing on his restrictions, Paul saw opportunities. Thats the key for us as well. There is a universe of humanity within our reach today.
You are called with a holy calling
The light of the world to be,
To lift up the lamp of the gospel
That others the light may see. Anon.
The gospel is a priceless gift thats offered free to everyone.

Thanks bunches to ALL who have prayed for Haley.
Update on Haley, while not out of the woods yet, her temp is now holding at normal, and she can follow a light with her eyes. She is stable at this time. They still don’t know about LONG term side effects of the spinal menigitis and the prolonged high temps 102-105. In a last ditch effort to lower her temp they had to use children’s Motrin to lower it, as the normal Tylenol and cool baths were not working. The Motrin is a usual NO, NO in children that young, it is a once in a life time use according to her doctor. Hearing loss, or brain damage are a high possibility because of the prolonged high temps and since the infection reached her brain. They have her on 2 antibiotics..and that has an effect on teeth development I’ve been told. If she continues to improve her hospital stay should be 2 weeks.
She will live thank GOD. Now I’m praying that her quality of life will be normal.
