Why are the militias (like Hutaree) called "right wing?"

Posted on 03/30/2010 12:13:25 PM PDT by Righting

I see the insertion of "RIGHT WING" in the case, at CBS and in other "mainstream" media outlet (MSM), it's not only ufair, unjust and false, but it's part of the 'left' campaign of demonization of the 'right.'

there is no foreign example of what in America is called “right wing”.

This is true. I've commented in the past that outside the US there is no equivalent to the Republican Party.

Most political parties around the world would fit comfortably within our Democratic Party. In a typical country you will find anti-church socialists, and pro-church socialists, anti-business socialists and pro-business socialists, left-leaning socialists and right-leaning socialists, you'll find every flavor of socialist you can think of, but you won't find any party that speaks for individual liberty and limited government.

Left and Right refer to two competing totalitarianisms. We are not on that continuum at all.

yes, there is international support for the Green Party (full name International Green Party), Communist Party, Worker’s Party...

About the only “anchor” is “the” church but even that has been co-opted and subverted by the Left (internationally).

Why are Christian terrorists (and these do appear to be terrorists) identified repeatedly as “Christian terrorists”), while Muslim Terrorists who kill 50 or so people the same day identified as “Caucasion Women”?

For the media "right wing" means "White men," "nationalists," and "Christians."

"Left-wing" means "people of color," and "internationalists" (religion and irreligion are harder to fit into the picture).

I'd just as soon drop the "wing" terminology and talk about "extremists," letting people decide where they want to put them on the political spectrum, but the whole point of the "left-right" terminology is to control and manipulate people's reactions, so it's not going to go away any time soon.

If they are cop-killers that doesn’t sound like Christian to me. So while we’re rejecting the “right wing” label we may as well reject the “Christian” label too. Unless we’re going to accept lunatics like Reverend Wright and the gay bishops as Christians.

Total state control and ownership(communism) = all the way left. Anarchism = all the way to the right

When you get to the likc long, there is no difference between Bolschevism and Fascism, other than under fascism there is nominal personal ownership (at the behest of the party).

Both want state control of the person. The person to serve the State.

The Nazis were very much socialists, but racist socialists -— bit like the Congressional Black Caucus.

The “left” and “right” ideas are stupid.

A true political spectrum probably goes Anarchy, Pure Libertarian, Federalists, Nanny-Stater Right, Nanny-Stater Left, Socialist (from Canada to whatever), Fascist (From Spain, to Italy, to Germany in degrees), Communist (from Yugoslavia to North Korea in degrees), True Totalitarian (Turkmenistan, Sharia).

I hit squarely on the Federalist point of the spectrum. Enough control for a civil society and little more. Let each state decide where it needs to be.

Religion (particularly Christianity), distrust of the UN, and the military are all hallmarks of the American Right. (I support all these things.) Right-wing extremists share these ideas, but in extreme or otherwise perverted forms. In particular, they tend to anticipate an inevitable civil war. The exact nature of the war depends on the group's particular doctrines. Racist types think it will be urban blacks vs. rural whites, religious types think it will be some kind of godless international coalition vs. American patriots. Their goal is to survive such a war with their own communities intact, which is fundamentally exclusionist.

Their counterparts on the left are driven more by ideology than religion, have less to say about international organizations, and prefer showy types of monkey-wrenching to regimentation. They are less concerned about future oppression than the oppression they believe exists now. They are ostensibly working for the good of all mankind, especially the oppressed, and view their actions as altruistic. They are fundamentally inclusionist, as long as the potential ally is ideologically pure.

The media drops the ball when single-issue terrorists come up. They try to fit anti-abortion bombers into the right and animal rights bombers into the left, but that's more about association than their philosophies. And if the Third Position ever takes off in the US, the media will be utterly incapable of describing it.

As for the Hutaree, what we know of them is pretty right-wing. They're certainly drawing a few ideas from the greater far-right community and trying to participate in it. They're professedly Christian, they made a YouTube video about killing a UN soldier, and they engage in paramilitary training. Emails released on the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog show they parrot the usual "New World Order" talking points, considering everyone down to the local LEOs to be NWO soldiers. That's about as far right as you can possibly go.

****I’d call them an “Ayers-like cult of mad bombers”. You will notice that the “fibbies” wanted them for their interest in IEDs, and IED is just another word for “bomb”, and that right there is all it should take to call them Islamofascists, or “Bombers like Bill Ayers”.****

There is a business opportunity if I ever saw one. Create a news site that does nothing other than rewrite news stories to counteract the leftist propaganda.

Also commies scapegoat economic classes, while Nazis scapegoat ethnic groups. The goal is the same--lay blame on someone, unite everyone else against them, confiscate their property, kill them, and install a totalitarian regime before the surviving populace realizes they were duped. History shows us that realization can take a very long time. Hopefully America will never dig itself that deeply into a hole.

I agree with your description of the political spectrum. The "left-right" model is deceptive, it doesn't mean what most people think it means. Some have tried to redefine it in order to make it make sense, but its better to abandon it altogether.

I also like the way that you have placed sharia alongside communism and nazism. Most people don't think to do it, but its on the money.

Looking at the list, I would probably move Sharia back to Fascists, as it has similiar national socialist ideas, but based on religion, instead of race.

Not bad for a college football player, huh?

And people thought we didn’t pay attention in school. (I didn’t; that’s why I know this.)

I have noticed that the jihadists seem to operate with marxist economic assumptions which are blended with their sharia muslim assumptions. Just an observation. Of course, much of the leadership were university educated, which would explain the marxist assumptions.

And, of course, much of the secular muslim nationalist parties have a direct genetic tie back to the Nazi party. So, again, the model fits.

I would imagine it depends on what these groups believe in.

I think that's the question here. What does this group believe that caused the media to call them right-wing?

Who is Andrew Arena?: Secret To Success in the FBI

By Debbie Schlussel
It’s official. The secret is out. For all you FBI agents out there–especially those wanting to become a Special Agent in Charge or otherwise advance up the ladder–I have news for you. Law enforcement skills and being a good manager will get you NOWHERE.
Here’s how to move up: Suck up to, pander, fawn over, and otherwise engage in obsequiousness to the most radical, extremist forms of leadership in your local Islamic community. If they support HAMAS, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Al-Qaeda, the Brotherhood–any of those will do–and you kiss their asses, you’re in.
Just ask Andrew G. Arena. The new FBI Special Agent in Charge in the heart of Islamic America–Michigan–got his new job that way. One of his closest associates told Detroit Newsistan fabricator David Shepardson:

Alhamdillullah, Abu Arena Has Made the Hajj to D-Mecca

“He knows all the aspects of the community,” noting his outreach with the Muslim community in Detroit and New York.

Yup, that’s “the community” to the FBI. Not you Infidels. Just the extremist Muslims who support terrorist groups like Hezbollah and HAMAS.
And, oh yeah, Arena is a Lions and Tigers fan, too, which everyone knows makes you a great law enforcement honcho. Right?
Alhamdillullah (praise Allah), Andrew Arena is here. What’s that brown on the end of his nose?
**** UPDATE, 12/28/06: The Christian Science Monitor has even more disturbing news about Andrew G. Arena. It appears that just a month ago, with the New York FBI, he was trying to change American popular opinion about Islam. Is he a federal law enforcement official or a dhimmi change agent for jihad? Hard to tell:

The FBI found many such misperceptions about Islam among its agents as well, according to Andrew Arena, the special agent in charge of the New York FBI office. And so, as the bureau began a concentrated effort to reach out to the Muslim community, education became one of its first priorities. At the FBI Academy and in ongoing field training, agents are now taught about the Muslim faith – its basic tenets and things like the difference between Shiites and Sunnis.

“It’s helped to make our agents more culturally sensitive to the concerns of not only the Muslim community, but all of the communities that we deal with,” says Mr. Arena.

Andrew Arena–sent to Detroit by the FBI NOT to investigate Islamic terrorism, but to help change our perceptions about its operatives. No wonder we are losing the war on terror.

What's this "We" stuff Kemosabe ?

"We", as in "some people argue". I wasn't aware that we followed the wikipedia school of writing. Thanks for setting me straight. The point I was trying to make is that left/right are just buzz-words used to refer to "the other guys". Like "progressive" (as if the opposite is someone who doesn't like progress). Call a spade a spade, a communist is a communist.
