“They only look intimidating”, I think that that may be read as :that they look shot”.

If they're loose on the street and threatening someone, shoot them on sight regardless of breed.

There would be a neighborhood dead dog alert IF they were running around and intimidating me or my kids.

Where I live there used to be a male Shizh Tziu whose owner was irresponsible with it getting loose. This dog attacked mine 3 times. The first time I overlooked it. The next 2 times I called Animal Control.
When the Animal Control officier came out to speak to me after the third incident I told him that if it happened again I was going to kill that dog. He smiled and didn't disagree with me.
BTW, each time that the attacks occurred I had my dog leashed (and always do unless he is on my fenced in patio).

Most jurisdictions living above 9th century community standards usually have ordinances against letting domestic animals run loose. (They're not enforced 90% of the time, but they're there.) If this owner thinks her dogs are so docile, let's see how they behave when Animal Control responds to multiple complaints and hauls them off with a lanyard around their necks. One thing that pisses me off until it's steaming hot is an irresponsible dog owner who let their pets run wild, and you eventually see them on the side of the road, dead from a car collision. The dog, that is. But the owner ought to be in the ditch with them.
You can read a man's soul by the way he treats his dog.

Pit bulls make up only 9% of the pet dogs in this country but are responsible for half of the fatal attacks on people.
If a dog comes onto my property and attacks one of my dogs or chases my livestock they are usually carried off. If I know who the owner is I make them come and remove their dead dog. Even if it is dead it is still their property and they have no right leaving it on my place. I've had the cops called on me a few times. The law is on my side. If you have dogs you need to be responsible for them. No second chances and no excuses.
