The dresses posted on this thread are more hideous than anything I have seen at Walmart or Target. That being said...Metrostyle, Spiegel and Newport News have wonderful fashions that look great, wear well and don't break the bank, especially if you can catch them on sale.

And what kind of work do you think we engage in???? These would be inappropriate at almost anywhere I have ever worked

The clothes make the man, in Washington, or New Jersey, or Ahhnuldd's Cullyforneeyah, maybe.
difference between men and women: a $500 suit- with an extra pair of slacks, a couple shirts and 5 ties, is a wardrobe for a season. a $500 dress on a woman is usually good once every 2 weeks.

Even if I earned $60,000 a year, I still wouldn’t buy $350 dresses. I guess I spent too many years living frugally as a single mom. I’m not impressed with what design clothes look like anyway. I could take $350 and shop at Marshall’s or JCP clearance racks and buy at least 5 or 6 work dresses that look nicer than some of this “designer” stuff.

LOL, a chest toupee??
Looks to me like they made a mistake and and one of the workroom sewers put the nightie lingerie neck lace on the ugly utilitarian bizness dress.
I don't know anyone who would wear that monstrousity anywhere.
LOL
What an appallingly ugly dress....

While watching the “red carpet” lead up to the most recent awards, I asked hubby “Wonder what would happen if, when asked who she’s wearing, one of the women said WalMart”. We laughed and laughed.

Some of these would look really great, and very professional, on the right person. Some are dumb looking.
I don’t go out of the yard sleeveless, so I’d need a jacket!

Yep, Dress Barn too! Also sometimes Burke’s Outlet Store here.
All of ‘em are kinda hit and miss for me, though. I HATE shopping for clothes for myself, or shoes! I’d rather have bamboo under my fingernails, LOL. :-\
