Orland Park doc to put in drive-up windows
ORLAND PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A doctor plans to open a medical office in Orland Park with a drive-up window.
Dr. Waldemar Nowak and his wife, Mary Jane Nowak, plan to convert the former Vito & Nick's restaurant into medical offices equipped with two drive-up bays. Traditional walk-in medical offices will be available as well.
Orland Park officials said the drive-up bays will be used by patients seeking medical attention, but Dr. Nowak declined to elaborate on how the drive-ups would be used.
"This is my own idea," Dr. Nowak said.
The plans were approved Monday by the village board's development services committee. The Orland Park Village Board must still approve the project.
"I think it's an interesting idea," Trustee Pat Gira said. "They're repurposing an existing building."
The building at 54 Orland Square Drive has housed a couple of restaurants and a record store in the past, but has been vacant for several years.
The doctor and his wife will renovate the existing 3,687-square-foot building and build additions on either side. The additions will total 3,048 square feet.
“Would you like fries with that shot?”
Wouldn’t HIPPA keep this from happening?
At first I thought it was a joke but this guy is a real doctor.

Brings the Joe Pesci quote from Lethal Weapon 2 to mind......
Good for him. The only kind of health care reform we need is the kind where medical professionals try out their own ideas for ways to deliver care efficiently and at low cost, and patients vote with their own wallets for what works for them.
It’s enough to be able to “consult” with a patient and dispense a prescription.
Sorta more like the beer stores we used to have around town. That way, snow or rain that is falling doesn't get into the car and you can open the door if you need to.
