In the media's eyes, the Boy Scouts of America are on par with bubble wrap - unimportant, disposable and something largely ignored unless someone wants to stomp on them.
The Boy Scouts celebrated its 100th anniversary last month. And as an organization in which over 110 million Americans have participated, including film director Steven Spielberg, 211 current members of Congress and Presidents John F. Kennedy, Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama - and given the positive characteristics often associated with Scouts - hard-working respectful and loyal - it's logical to think the media would love to celebrate along with them.
But for the media, the gay agenda trumps everything else. As the Boy Scouts do not allow open homosexuals to serve in leadership roles within the organization, the Scouts will have to look elsewhere for commemoration.
ABC was the sole broadcast network to air anything about the Boy Scouts in the five weeks since the organization's anniversary. Two other segments aired on NPR. But while NBC and CBS could highlight the 50th birthday of bubble wrap and the Etch-A-Sketch, the 80th birthday of Nancy Drew, and the 60th birthday of the FBI's Most Wanted List, they couldn't muster even a mention for the Boy Scouts

Scout Ping!
You noticed this too, huh.
As expected. February 8th was formally our 100th anniversary. Not a mention, even though we’re the biggest youth organization out there.
I personally know several Eagle Scouts who made Eagle and petitioned that Bill Clinton's name NOT be put on their Eagle Award. Their request was granted and they got George Bush's name instead of Slick's.
I would take being ignored by the liberal media as a compliment. As for the Eagle Scouts, I would have done the same thing if I had been one.
Oh how the media does hate the Boy Scouts.

........The closest thing Bill Clinton ever became to being a Boy Scout was the fact that as president he became its honorary chairman while he was president.....
However for two years he refused to write the traditional letters of congratulation to new Eagle Scouts. Even then it was like pulling teeth to get them
More evidence that the MSM are as honest, truthful and righteous as politicians.
SCREW'EM!
Which is why I no longer receive television service of any kind.
I’ll look at this as a positive thing. They can’t stop the BSA. They know it. They try like hell to marginalize the BSA, yet there are many out there who quietly go about ensuring boys have the opportunity to experience the joys of Scouting.
The BSA has not died, in fact, those of us who believe in Scouting work even harder to ensure its continued operations and success. Employers, colleges, Military Academies, etc. still hold Eagle Scouts in high regard.
Screw the media, screw the liberals, screw anyone who stands against the BSA.
We’re still relevant.
I found this and edited it to go on the back of our Blue and Gold program for Saturday.

Harrison Ford, Actor; and Jerry Mathers as The Beaver. He was a Cub Scout in California. In a Parade Magazine interview Jerry was asked, “What was your Beaver audition like?” Jerry replied, “I had just joined the Cub Scouts, and I had my first Cub Scout meeting and didnt want to miss it. My mom told me to wear my uniform to the audition and she would drive me to Cub Scouts right after it. I went in and the producers said, “Why are you so fidgety, Jerry?” And I said, “I dont want to be here because I have a Cub Scout meeting.” My mom said that probably wasnt the best thing to tell them! That night the producers called and said I had the part. And the reason they picked me was that theyd rather have a child that wanted to go to a Cub Scout meeting than to be an actor.”
BTW, my son is crossing over into Boy Scouts to join his older brother. He has earned every Webelos award.
