“people should be prepared to be on their own for several days before professional emergency responders are available to help them.”
How long did it take the obama leghumper media to jump on Pres. Bush after katrina?

Sure. Several days is the longest they might have to get along without the great emergency responders. /sarc

In Florida it’s State policy that to survive disaster you need to have 3 days of supplies. Doesn’t say how much ammo that consists of.

Buy a gun and a lot of ammo. Guns are good, but you cannot eat them or drink them. And if you depend upon medicine to survive, the guns won't help either unless you plan to identify unarmed others who are talking something equivalent and plan to hold them up.

You’re not supposed to eat the gun. You shoot your dinner with it.

1) Medicine
2) Guns and Ammo
3) Food and Water (Water's more important)
4) Everything else (Shelter, clothes, tools, fuel, etc.)
For long term food storage, I recommend www.thereadystore.com
Freeze dried foods can be stored for up 20-30 years

You shoot your dinner with it. That'll work great in LA, unless you become someone else's dinner.

Probably help prevent you and yours from being on the end of a fork and knife if you are armed to the teeth and Andy Griffith says you can load your gun.

You might read

I have read it and love advice by Rawles. I now see your perspective but I think the first comment was meant as a joke mostly, from the other poster.
