LOS ANGELES - Three Los Angeles elementary school teachers accused of giving children portraits of O.J. Simpson, Dennis Rodman and RuPaul to carry in a Black History Month parade have been removed from their classrooms, a school district spokeswoman said Wednesday.

"The superintendent will not let anyone make a mockery out of Black History Month," she said.
The issue was brought to district officials' attention by the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People after the organization received a complaint early Monday, chapter President Leon Jenkins said.
Jenkins said he felt the teachers acted in concert to mock black heroes and children's innocence.

Racist History Month is already a mockery - a perversion - of everything that MLK stood for.
All of our children had to do reports in reference to Black history month and what the Blacks have done for mankind over the years. Besides Peanut Butter and Blacks rights we really could not find too much more. I don't mean to be harsh, but I want to be honest...
...but, have no fear, the founding fathers, western civilization, Christianity, and traditional moral values are still fair targets.
Just like the man they lionize, MLK had some liberal views, but he was a lifelong Republican (only b/c at that time you couldn’t register in the Democratic party in many southern states if you were black)....
From the article:
“...all white men who teach first, second and fourth grades...”
That’s a pretty skunky thing to do, especially to little kids.
For the record - I think any race-related month is dumb. People say they want to be color-blind, and then when you close your eyes so as not to see color, they SCREAM at you and tell you what color they are.
Chris Rock made a “mockery” of Black History” month and these same people were rolling in the aisles.
Funny, but I missed Yugoslavian History Month, Tibetan History Month and Brazilian History Month. Was I sleeping?????? Just asking.
Sounds like a fair superintendent, I'm sure he'll enforce the same standard during White History Month, when school children throughout our country have parades to honor white Americans...What?! There is no White History Month!? School children don't honor white Americans with parades?!
No kidding. I wonder if they will ever have a German History month, since many Americans came from Germany. Same for Irish and other European countries.
"American Legacy The Magazine of African-American History & Culture".
Leafing through it there was one picture of white person.
"The gangster Dutch Schultz, photographed in 1934, bullied Razaf into writing one of best songs,"
I would love to be included in things African-American. But it is always accompanied by such bristling hostility towards me and my family that I just bypass it. Who needs dirt dumped on your head because of your race?
Having grown up in rural Wisconsin I had no idea what racism was until I went off to college (in 1969). At college I discovered that I was hated by some for the white color of my skin. It was an eye opener for a naive young Lutheran who just thought people were people.
It is called Black History Month, not Black Heroes Month. Simpson, Rodman and RuPaul are black, and well enough known to be considered recent historical characters.
A murderer and two flaming gays, these are fine role models, added to the list should be rappers and other assorted criminal types because these kind of people really are role models for blacks.
Harriet Tubman is a worthy role model, for either black or white kids. She was a woman of honor.
Obama, heck no. Nelson Mandela....his communist leanings would eliminate him, too.
O.J., Dennis Rodman, RuPaul? They must be kidding.
My daughter did her biography report on Condi Rice!
So...are these white male teachers gay? Putting Simpson aside...I see a trend with the other two. Cross dressers.
I’m just guessing these guys are not discussed in black history:
