Well, I got a lot of work done but my hip suffered....get so aggravated. Took a pill and pushed on.
After studying the effect of the post-World War II economic boom in Japan, Richard Easterlin concluded that monetary growth does not always bring more satisfaction. More recently, economists Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers conducted surveys in more than 100 nations and concluded that life satisfaction is highest in the richest countries.
So whos right? Lets check with the writer of Ecclesiastes. He should know! He was a truly rich man (2:8). He had the means to try everything in this worldand he did! He gave himself to pleasure (vv.1-3), grand projects (vv.4-8), entertainment (v.8), and hard work (vv.10-11). But he concluded that it was all vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun (v.11).
Lasting satisfaction doesnt come from possessing tangible things like savings accounts and material goods. Recent events have shown that these things can suddenly lose value. To find true happiness, we have to find it in Someone who is not from under the sun. And that is our Savior, Jesus.
Hymnwriter Floyd Hawkins wrote: Ive discovered the way of gladness, Ive discovered the way of joy, Ive discovered relief from sadness. . . . When I found Jesus, my Lord. Only He can give joy that is full (John 15:11).
Lovely message this morning, Rus! Thanks for giving us that boost we all need in getting our priorities in order.

It is scheduled to be 60 degrees on Monday! Gonna burn some ammo at the range if it gets that purdy.
Ahh ..... this graphic and message are adorable, Jaycee. Thank you.
Come Monday, I’m finding spring!!!
Weatherpeople are predicting more rain but I have snapdragons, daffodils and holllyhocks in bloom. Also the fruit trees are blooming and the bees are working. Yeaa!
Wishing you a Terrific Thursday. Hope you can give you hip some rest today.
Yea!! I heard middle and upper 50’s over the weekend but 60 will be terrific! Have fun burning that ammo!
Thanks Amy and I will be commenting when I get back sometime today. Hair first and some errands....and I’m already tired. I know I love “Deep Purple” but will listen later!
Have a happy Thursday!
Things bloom a lot sooner in lovely California and where my brother lives in Georgia. Their azaleas, etc. bloom about 2 months before ours do. We even had a little snow last night but doesn’t amount to anything. Same thing the night before.
I had Prepared the Goodnight Graphic just a Few Days before Posting it, so it was a Very Recent Upload. I Read your Post about the person who Stormed Off FR in a Huff and Replaced her Graphics with Filthy Ones, and am Appalled that Someone would Do that. :( The People that Do these Things must have a Seared Conscience. :(
I Love Photobucket and Use it All the Time, but on my Slow Satellite Connection, I Forgot that Photobucket could Upload a Lot of Graphics at once, Lol, until I Read Meg's Post Mentioning it. Then I Remembered that I had Tried the Bulk Uploader a Long Time Ago, but the Satellite couldn't Manage it. Yorkie, I Mistakenly Posted to you that I Thought you would have to Upload the Graphics One at a Time. My Apologies, Dear FRiend, and if DSL ever Arrives in my Area, I'll be Trying the Bulk Uploader again. : )
(((((Sending Wishes for a Lovely Day to All FRiends)))))
I guess it was my computer, but I thought that FR was just acting up again. I was downloading an update and trying to read the thread and it kept freezing.
cute pup is NOT looking out of DollyCali’s window
Thank you, yorkie. I couldn't get the link to work for me. I don't have problems with YouTube videos (it just takes a while to download), but videos on MySpace and videos on the networks, etc are different, and they don't 'save' once fully downloaded - they just start over, or go on to the next video. I can't do 'streaming' audio or video.
I do love Etta James "At Last" though! Does she sound 'anything' like her?
Hi, Aqua. Wish I’d been here when you came by last night to say hello. Miss seeing you here, but I do understand you are covered up with caregiving. It’s so sad when our aging relatives get so ill they are helpless to care for themselves. I’m pretty sure it’s never their wish to be dependent. It’s just hard for all. :(
Now, now - they've been listening to the people and their health care plan is just what 'the people' have been telling them they want. It's all good.
Hope your doctor can get it resolved soon. :(
Thanks for the compliments on the openings. :) Did you recognize the 'lightofthesilverymoon' graphic? You named it when you sent it to me - I just converted it to black & white and listened to a couple of versions of the song on YouTube before choosing Doris Day's rendition. :)
What a sweet little doggie looking out that window!
