(WSB Radio) -- A Rockdale County newborn, bitten by a pit bull, has died.
The Rockdale Citizen reports the mother of the 5 day old girl heard some cries, then spotted the family dog on top of the baby's bassinet.
"As she approached the bassinet, she realized that the dog had bitten her daughter," an investigator told the newspaper.
The child underwent surgery at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, but died Tuesday from her injuries.
Right, It’s the Parents fault for being “stupid” enough to not “introduce their newborn baby to their Pitt Bull killer.
Do have any idea how “Stupid” that comment sounds?
You didn’t miss it.
This breed needs to be snuffed out like the mistake that it was.
WTF are these parents thinking??????????????????? Beyond that, I have no words...
Parents were too stupid to introduce the baby to the dog slowly and make sure the dog knows that this new cub was NOT to be harmed.
YES!! Everyone knows that the dog's sensitivities must be catered to above all else. Stupid baby probably didn't act right. Stupid parents probably didn't realize they were a pack, not a family with a pet.
Unfortunately what will happen is municipalities will start banning specific breeds. And of course, the liberals will start with the Pit Bull, banning it first, but the cry to “do more” will extend the ban to other breeds; Rottweilers, German Shepards being next and then on down the line depending on how big or how mean looking they are.
We have our first grandchild on the way and I have already instructed my daughter that her cats are not allowed in the baby’s room, even when the baby isn’t in there. To have a PIT BULL, or ANY dog for that matter and not close the door on the room where the baby lies unattended is negligent and STUPID.
Shoot, golden retrievers are on one list of breeds to ban.
Truthfully, no animal should be allowed access to a newborn baby without close supervision.
I have been told, repeatedly, that attacks like this are rare.
There are some dogs that just can’t take a baby’s cry. Poor decision by the mother to leave the child and dog unattended.
Do you realize that not all pit bulls are “killers”? The vast majority owned by responsible owners are gentle, loving dogs. Your statement is as ignorant as the idiots who blame guns on crime.
If this had been 1970 you would be railing about “killer German Shepherds”, in 1980 it would be “killer Doberman Pincers”, and 1990 it would be “killer Rottweilers”.
Actually your statement is stupendously ignorant. Guns are inanimate objects incapable of acting on their own despite all of the liberal propaganda. Dogs have the capability to make decisions and act on them all on their own. Not even close.
This seems the best way to cull the stupid people in society.
Unfortunately, the baby died, not the parents.
Yep. I also advise new parents to bring home items the baby has slept in while at the hospital so the dog can get used to the new scent.

True, but your analogy is faulty. Guns are inanimate objects that do nothing until handled. Dog have minds of their own.
Is name-calling really necessary? from occupied ga is not asking your opinion on how to introduce a dog to a child.
