Just got a new laptop and had to re-install my anti-virus software from Computer Associates. Couldn't figure out how to turn off the dang parental controls. Every site I clicked on was blocked. Free Republic was blocked and the reason was it was listed as a "hate" site. How ridiculous!
CA home and home office customer service:
Customer Service, Sales, Billing and Account Information
Phone: +1 866 851-5273
“Why does your software block FreeRepublic.com ? I’m calling to get your answer so that I can report back to our members, of which there are THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND. OK..?”
I wonder if you can submit the DUmp as a ‘hate’ site candidate to Computer Associates, to see if they add it to their database. Do they have a complaint form? :)
I dont have CA, but SOMETHING occasionally tries to block access to FR claiming it contains malware.
That could easily happen if you put in a link here that references such a site containing that.
And, I've seen sites referenced here that did contain some kind of "malware" that was blocked by these kinds of programs.
So, it's a secondary effect here, being that someone referenced it and put it on a post here.
Computer Associates: where software goes to die.
I “hate” liberals, so CA maybe correct (sarc/)
“I just cant tolerate posts like that. :-)”
Don’t hate me...
“What about the Dutch...”
Well...that’s different...they love intolerance more than they tolerate hatred...
IIRC, wasn’t the guy (DK now) who founded/owned/owns/major stockholder CA also a big time Clinton supporter?
I don’t remember his name - some Indian sounding name, maybe - big dem, Clintonoid, liberal or something?
May explain the blacklisting of FR, no?
