On a chilly afternoon in western Loudoun County, a group of children used tweezers to extract rodent bones from a regurgitated owl pellet. A boy built a Lego projectile launcher. A girl practiced her penmanship. On the wall, placards read, "I fast in Ramadan," "I pay zakat" and "I will go on hajj."
Welcome to Priscilla Martinez's home -- and her children's school, where Martinez is teacher, principal and guidance counselor, and where the credo "Allah created everything" is taught alongside math, grammar and science.
Martinez and her six children, ages 2 to 12, are part of a growing number of Muslims who home school.....

They only need the one book though.
I wish more Christians were doing the same.
I know this is going to get me flamed, because this forum is all about home school, but this is another incidence of Muslims avoiding assimilation and keeping their kids in their little prisons of Islamic belief and tradition. You know they are not teaching them American history, values, customs etc. They are putting down the foundation for their spawn to take over our country and impose their culture.
kids still do the owl pellet thing, huh?
A frightening sight.
I imagine you're right, but in many of the public schools they wouldn't learn much about those things either.
Better taught at home by Mom than at one of those male-dominated human bomber madrasahs.
At some point they will learn that without some knowledge of America they won’t get far here.
That's an unusual name for a Muzzie.
That is so true
“Priscilla Martinez’s
That’s an unusual name for a Muzzie.”
Most likely she’s originally from the Muslim area of the Philippines called Mindanao. Spanish surnames are common in the Philippines due to Spain’s influence from 1600 to
1898.
Mulims are marrying white and hispanic women all over the country. A friend of mine, jewish, says her mom married a Muslim when she was around 3. She always had to go to her room and be quiet when he would bring “friends” over, he never approved of her watching TV or anything else. Oh and if he answers the phone when she calls, he will not let her mom talk to her.
Compare the non-critical non-sneering tone of this article to those Washington Post has done on Christian homeschoolers.
There’s a teen here who can’t date because he has an arranged marriage. His family came over (can’t remember from where - island?) about five years ago because they wanted the American dream... whatever.
Maybe this means Christian home-schoolers will be safe from government intrusion that now that we have muslim PC cover.
No....probably not.
There is a Muslim family (okay we assume) 2 doors down. The kids never come outside in the front yard to play.
I tell people constantly, and the lib ones look at me and don’t get it.
There is a HUGE difference between conservative Christianity and conservative Islam and anything else.
When Christians become strongly conservative and evangelical, they move INTO the community and try to make it better. They give of their time and money to all. Their idea for God is working at shelters. The kids in my church are going to Mexico to help at an eye clinic.
Cults and Muslims segregate themselves from the community and Muslims certainly tend to favor their own for charity. Their idea of working for their God is following rules.
Agree, non-assimilation is their goal. With all its faults western culture is too attractive.
Invite them over for some pork ribs maybe you have a lot in common.?.
It is?
